Yosemite National Park small group tour

Photos don’t do the park justice, beautiful beyond belief. Our small group tour was perfect, clean and comfortable bus plus our guide PHIL was terrific. He told us many historical stories and a few bad jokes, made us laugh anyway.

    The tour was the perfect...

The tour was the perfect combination of appreciating the beauty and learning about the history. We experienced all the well known places to see, this would have been hard to do on our own! So glad we booked this trip.

Response from the operator: We are so glad you booked your trip as well. Thank you for choosing Discover Yosemite and for taking the time to leave a review.

    It is really not...

It is really not disclosed, but, if you have some trouble walking you might miss out on some of the sites. The trails are rough, steep, a long distance from the parking. Pace your self and be aware of the distance if you are challenged or have a disability. It did not seem the company had any disability plan for the group or driver education. Grant, our guide, was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed his narrative.

Response from the operator: The Park Service does limit where we are allowed to drop people, but if requested there are places the guide can drop those with limited mobility so the walks are not as long. However, all the sights listed can be seen without do too much walking. More walking can be done for those who choose. We thank you for joining us and leaving your insight.

A good tour despite set backs

We enjoyed the tour and got to see all the major Yosemite sights. We were at least 20 minutes late getting picked up and then our guide was feeling ill and had to call in a replacement. That resulted in 90 minutes of just cooling our heels in the bus while another guide drove into the park. The second guide Phil did an awesome job getting us to all of Yosemite's highlights. It made for a really long day but I am glad the company came up with a Plan B so we could see it all.

Response from the operator: We are so sorry the day started out rough, but thank you so much for sticking it out with us!

A must for your Yosemite trip!

Highly recommend touring Yosemite National Park with Discover Yosemite! The full-day tour started with hotel pickup, which was a bonus point for me as a solo traveler without a vehicle, and our tour guide/driver, Phil, had been absolutely knowledgeable about Yosemite and its history, fun facts, and recommendations for hiking trails. We had such a blast at Glacier Point, Yosemite Valley, El Capitan, and Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, to name a few. What’s more, the two-hour picnic-style lunchtime was more than enough to enjoy the magnificent view at Swinging Bridge, dip our toes in the clear river, and even check out the gift shop at the lodge nearby. All in all, thanks to Phil and Discover Yosemite for making my first trip to Yosemite an unforgettable one!

Response from the operator: And thanks to you for choosing Discover Yosemite and leaving such a nice review. Hopefully you will visit again.

Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Yosemite National Park.

How much does Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $220 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Yosemite National Park usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Yosemite National Park is not rushed.

Is Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 92 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 799 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Yosemite National Park, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour?

    +

Around 280 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Yosemite National Park can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Yosemite National Park and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Yosemite National Park within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Yosemite National Park?

    +

Yosemite tours cover Valley loops to El Capitan and Half Dome viewpoints, Glacier Point sunsets, Mariposa Grove sequoias and waterfall hikes in spring melt. Day trips from San Francisco run long, so we weight transparency on drive time. On Outty we rank every Yosemite National Park experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour, Yosemite Winter Highlights Small Group Tour, Yosemite Valley & Glacier Point Adaptive Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Yosemite National Park?

    +

May to June for waterfalls, September to October for quiet trails. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Yosemite National Park?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
