How Outty ranks, sources and discloses
Outty publishes rankings that influence what people book, so the rules behind them are public. Scores are produced by one formula applied to every listing, data comes from the Viator Partner API, and the affiliate commission that funds the site has no effect on any score.

Scores are calculated, never negotiated
Every experience is scored by the same public formula, applied identically to all listings in a city. There is no manual boost, no editor's pick that outranks the model, and no way for an operator to request a higher Outty Ranking.
No paid placement, ever
Outty does not sell rankings, badges, homepage slots or entry into the 90+ Club. If a paid format is ever introduced, it will be labeled as advertising on the page itself and excluded from ranked results.
Affiliate commission is disclosed up front
Outty earns an affiliate commission when a booking is completed on Viator, at no extra cost to the traveler. Commission rates are not an input to the Outty Ranking, and higher-paying products get no advantage.
Facts come from the source system
Prices, durations, cancellation windows, ratings and review counts are taken from the Viator Partner API and refreshed continuously. Outty does not restate operator marketing claims as verified fact, and does not publish reviews, testimonials or awards it cannot trace to that data.
Prices are 'from' values and can change
The price shown is the lowest available option at the last refresh, before optional add-ons and date-specific pricing. The price at checkout on Viator is the authoritative one.
Methodology changes are documented
When the ranking model changes, the component list and weights on the Outty Ranking page are updated in the same release, and the whole catalog is rescored so that scores stay comparable across cities.
Corrections are welcome
If a listing is misdescribed, mislocated, duplicated or no longer operating, tell us and we will correct or remove it. Data sourced from Viator is corrected on the next refresh once the source record is fixed.
Report an error
Send us the page URL and what looks wrong. We review every report and correct or remove listings that no longer reflect reality.
