Great intro walk to Yosemite
We had a lovely relaxing walk with Kara exploring the main highlights of the Valley area. It was a great introduction to Yosemite and we learned that although the Valley only represents 1% of the national park, it is all that 90% of visitors chose to explore. I would highly recommend this tour as a "Day 1 intro'. And try to stay in the valley in order to avoid lengthy drives. We stayed at the Ahwahnee and although terrible and expensive, it's the best option.
Response from the operator: Thanks for taking the time to leave this review about your day in Yosemite Valley with Kara. We couldn't agree more that a day exploring the iconic Yosemite Valley is a great start to a multi-day trip in Yosemite. I also appreciate your words about the Ahwahnee. Thanks again for sharing. -Scott

The best private hiking guide!
My husband and I had a private day hiking tour with Eric. We did the 4 mile trial, panorama trail and mist trail and had the most incredible day. From the very first meeting with Eric on the day of starting our hike we knew we were in for a great day! Any question we had about Yosemite, Eric could answer!! And he filled the day with lots of fun facts and information about all kinds of things within the park. He was also great at just knowing when to let us enjoy the moment and take it in, but could also fill in the day with fun conversation too. We would never have learnt so much, or seen as much as we did in the day without him. Would absolutely recommend Eric and lasting adventures to anyone looking for a guide within Yosemite.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! Eric is a great example of the kind of individual we look for when hiring and has been a star since the day he started with us. He is a great teacher, with a passion for the subject matter. We're so glad you were able to explore the trails with him and that he was able to make the experience educational, fun, and unforgettable. Thank you for going on this adventure and letting him shine.

Why this scores 82
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Yosemite National Park.
How much does Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $360 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Yosemite National Park usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Yosemite National Park is not rushed.
Is Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 85 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Yosemite National Park, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour?
+
Around 30 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Yosemite National Park can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Yosemite National Park and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Yosemite National Park within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Yosemite National Park?
+
Yosemite tours cover Valley loops to El Capitan and Half Dome viewpoints, Glacier Point sunsets, Mariposa Grove sequoias and waterfall hikes in spring melt. Day trips from San Francisco run long, so we weight transparency on drive time. On Outty we rank every Yosemite National Park experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour, Yosemite Winter Highlights Small Group Tour, Yosemite Valley & Glacier Point Adaptive Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Yosemite National Park?
+
May to June for waterfalls, September to October for quiet trails. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Yosemite National Park?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
