A MUST do in San Jose del Cabo

We had a WONDERFUL experience with Salty Cabo. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly - they had delicious snacks, were regularly checking our desire for drinks, and the boat was LOVELY. Monica was incredibly knowledgeable and we were lucky enough to see several whales and enjoyed the snorkeling as well. I loved that they ALSO take pictures - would recommend to all.

Response from the operator: Hi Michael, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you had such a great experience with us and felt welcomed from the start. Monica will be so happy to know her knowledge made the tour even more special. It’s great that you were able to enjoy both the whale watching and snorkeling — and of course we’re glad you appreciated the photos so you could stay in the moment. Thank you for the strong recommendation — it truly means a lot to our team. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Warm regards, Roland & the Salty Cabo Team

Salty Cabo Whale watching

Excellent experience. The operators, the captain and our guide were all wonderful people. The boat was well cared for, comfortable and safe. We were treated a spectacular show of humpbacks breaching - saw at least 12 breaches within 150ft of the boat and several more from a distance. My 6yr old had a blast. A great day.

Response from the operator: Hi Kyle, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you had such an excellent experience and witnessed that incredible breaching activity — moments like that are truly unforgettable. It’s especially great to know your 6-year-old had such a fun time — sharing these experiences as a family makes them even more special. We’re also glad you felt comfortable and safe on board. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you and your family back again soon! Warm regards, Roland & the Salty Cabo Team

Seeing a mother and her baby together is always such a special and memorable experience. Luisa and the captain will be so happy to know you appreciated their patience and respectful approach. Keeping a calm distance while allowing these moments to unfold naturally is very important to us. Thank you for joining us — we hope to welcome you back again soon! Great whalewatching tour nice time out on the water

Beautiful experience , with an experienced guide Louisa and professional captain, we were quickly taken to an area of whales with their babies , she explained the behaviour of the " escort " with the mother and baby , we were able to enjoy seeing them being active, and a plus on the way back saw mobile mantas jumping , for 2 hours with about 8others , pleasant and friendly atmosphere ,

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed such a beautiful experience on the water. Luisa will be delighted to know her explanations about the escort behavior added to your understanding of what you were seeing. Seeing mothers and calves, along with active behavior, is always special — and spotting jumping mobula rays on the way back is a fantastic bonus! We’re glad you enjoyed the relaxed, friendly atmosphere on board. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back again soon. Warm regards, Roland & the Salty Cabo Team

Private Whale Watching in San José del Cabo: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Los Cabos.

How much does Private Whale Watching in San José del Cabo cost?

+

Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Los Cabos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Whale Watching in San José del Cabo take?

+

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Los Cabos is not rushed.

Is Private Whale Watching in San José del Cabo worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 109 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Los Cabos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Whale Watching in San José del Cabo?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Whale Watching in San José del Cabo suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Whale Watching in San José del Cabo?

+

Around 38 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Los Cabos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Los Cabos and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Whale Watching in San José del Cabo start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Los Cabos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Los Cabos?

+

On Outty we rank every Los Cabos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cabo 4x4 ATV Tour with Tequila Tasting and Mexican Buffet Lunch, Ziplining and UTV Desert Adventure from Los Cabos, Cabo Beach Camel Ride, Mexican Buffet and Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Los Cabos?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Los Cabos?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
