So worth it! Gotta do it!

This was a bucket list trip. Swimming so close to these unique sharks was amazing. We knew we were at the tail end of the season so we were a bit worried we might miss them but we saw several and to be honest. It seemed we really only needed one to be able to have the experience swimming along with them. :) so worth it! And aim happy Mexico is carefully protecting them as well.

Amazing Tour, Unacceptable Treatment at the End

Our La Paz tour with Cabo Adventures was honestly wonderful. The guides, driver, and the rest of the tour staff were friendly, professional, and made sure everyone had a great experience. Until the very end of the day, we would have gladly given this tour 5 stars. Unfortunately, everything changed when we returned to the Cabo Adventures facility. After being dropped off from our tour, my 6-year-old son urgently needed to use the restroom. My nephew took him inside but they were denied entry because they were told they needed a reservation to enter the facility. He explained that we had literally just returned from a Cabo Adventures tour and that a small child simply needed to use the restroom, but they were still turned away. I then went inside to ask why paying customers who had just returned from one of your tours were being denied access to the restroom. The front desk/hostess immediately greeted us with a rude and confrontational attitude, questioning whether we were actually customers because she claimed we weren't wearing the correct wristbands. Ironically, my husband had already gone into the restroom and was never questioned. It wasn't until he came out and showed our reservation that we were finally allowed inside. What happened next was completely unacceptable. As I walked to the restroom, my husband remained nearby watching the soccer game playing on one of the televisions. He clearly overheard the employee call me "pinche vieja pendeja." At no point during our interaction did I raise my voice, insult her, or treat her disrespectfully. I simply asked why a 6-year-old child who had just returned from your tour was being denied access to the restroom. As someone who also works in the tourism industry, I understand that companies have policies and procedures. However, there is never an excuse for an employee to insult a customer, especially in front of a young child. It's incredibly disappointing that one employee's behavior overshadowed what had otherwise been an excellent experience. The rest of the Cabo Adventures team was fantastic, which makes this interaction even more unfortunate. I hope management takes this review seriously and addresses the situation appropriately. No guest should leave an otherwise amazing day remembering being insulted by a member of the staff.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We are truly pleased to hear that you enjoyed your activity with us and that our guides, driver, and the rest of the team helped make your experience memorable. At the same time, we are sincerely sorry to learn about your experience upon returning to our facilities. While access procedures are in place for operational and security reasons, this should never prevent our team from treating every guest with courtesy, empathy, and professionalism. We are especially concerned by your comments regarding the interaction with our front desk team. The language and behavior you described do not reflect the standards of service we expect from our staff. Your feedback has been shared with our management team so the situation can be thoroughly reviewed and addressed internally. We truly regret that this interaction overshadowed what had otherwise been an enjoyable day for you and your family. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and for recognizing the efforts of the rest of our team despite this unfortunate experience.

La Paz Whale Shark Snorkeling Tour

My wife and I had an absolutely unforgettable experience swimming with whale sharks in La Paz, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Joe. From start to finish, Joe was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He made sure we felt comfortable and safe the entire time, especially before getting in the water. His instructions were clear and reassuring, which made a big difference—especially for first-time swimmers with whale sharks. Once we were in the water, the experience was surreal. Joe did an amazing job positioning us so we could safely and respectfully swim alongside these incredible animals. You can tell he truly cares about both his guests and the well-being of the whale sharks. He also captured amazing photos and videos for us, which we’ll cherish forever. It allowed us to stay present in the moment without worrying about documenting everything ourselves. Overall, this was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Cabo/La Paz. If you’re considering a whale shark tour, I cannot recommend Joe enough—he made the entire experience seamless, safe, and truly magical. Thank you again, Joe! — David & Lisa

Told wrong pickup time. Left without me. No refund.

I didn’t go. I was super excited. They told me the wrong pickup time over the phone. So I showed up 45 min late. Then refused to refund me my $500. It was my birthday.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re truly sorry to hear what happened, especially on such an important occasion. We understand how disappointing it must have been to miss the experience due to a timing issue, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration this caused. This is not the experience we want for our guests. We would really appreciate the opportunity to review your case in detail and better understand what occurred with the pickup information. Please contact us directly at info@cabo-adventures.com with your reservation details so we can follow up personally. We truly hope to have the chance to make this right.

    Truly amazing experience

It was our first time in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We stayed at the hotel Corazón, which was just a short walk from the marina. The tour guide was super friendly and funny, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about whales. We learned some interesting facts. It was my first time seeing whales breaching. They also took us to see El Arco, served us drinks and a tasty lunch. The tour lasted about 2 1/2 hours. Best part of our vacation. Truly amazing experience! I highly recommend this tour.

How much does La Paz Whale Shark Snorkeling Tour and Lunch From Los Cabos cost?

    +

Prices start at $259 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Los Cabos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does La Paz Whale Shark Snorkeling Tour and Lunch From Los Cabos take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Los Cabos is not rushed.

Is La Paz Whale Shark Snorkeling Tour and Lunch From Los Cabos worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 92 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 1,129 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Los Cabos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule La Paz Whale Shark Snorkeling Tour and Lunch From Los Cabos?

    +

Around 395 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Los Cabos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Los Cabos and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Los Cabos?

    +

On Outty we rank every Los Cabos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ziplining and UTV Desert Adventure from Los Cabos, Cabo 4x4 ATV Tour with Tequila Tasting and Mexican Buffet Lunch, Cabo Beach Camel Ride, Mexican Buffet and Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Los Cabos?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Los Cabos?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
