    Family first time in Yosemite

John was absolutely Amazing ! I’m 64 , my husband is 65 , our daughter is 35 and our grandson is 5 years old and John was there for us in a kind, patient, knowledgeable, informative and peaceful way. He knew how to motivate our grandson when was needed. He was kind and respectful to me since I’m a little slow, a team player with my husband and daughter. He showed us the beautiful Yosemite in a way that we will never forget! Thank you John. We highly recommend John for a hike ! Thank you so much 😊

Response from the operator: We are grateful for all your kind words and are so happy you were able to have an amazing experience in Yosemite with us. Thank you again.

    Amazing Guided Hike in Yosemite!

We had an amazing hike with Ashley!! We spent ~5 hours with her doing the Sentinel Dome hike, it was great! We even ere able to have the top of Sentinel Dome to ourselves for a bit which was awesome. When we were driving out after the hike our whole family agreed it was hands down the best family hike we had been on! We would highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your postive words for our Yosemite tours and your guide Ashley. We are thrilled to read that Sentinel Dome was "hands down the best family hike" you ever shared together.

    Phenomenal Excursion!

We (family of 5) were interested in not only hiking to see the notable sights in the Yosemite Valley but also learning about the history of Yosemite. We were also interested in getting recommendations on areas to go and places to eat after the private hike. Josh, was an amazing guide; so knowledgeable and full of smiles! We also loved how he asked for our input during the hike so we truly got a personalized hike. I’d highly recommend this excursion; and i’d recommend that you take this the first or second day of your vaca so that you can get the “lay of the land” and really get the most out of your stay in Yosemite!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review and recommendation of our services. We are pleased that you had a wonderful Yosemite experience with Josh. We are grateful for your words and happy you felt he customized the tour for a more personalized hike. Thank you again.

Private Family Hike in Yosemite: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Yosemite National Park.

How much does Private Family Hike in Yosemite cost?

    +

Prices start at $195 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Yosemite National Park usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Family Hike in Yosemite take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Yosemite National Park is not rushed.

Is Private Family Hike in Yosemite worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Yosemite National Park, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Family Hike in Yosemite?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Family Hike in Yosemite suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Family Hike in Yosemite?

    +

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Yosemite National Park can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Yosemite National Park and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Family Hike in Yosemite start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Yosemite National Park within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Yosemite National Park?

    +

Yosemite tours cover Valley loops to El Capitan and Half Dome viewpoints, Glacier Point sunsets, Mariposa Grove sequoias and waterfall hikes in spring melt. Day trips from San Francisco run long, so we weight transparency on drive time. On Outty we rank every Yosemite National Park experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour, Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour, Yosemite Winter Highlights Small Group Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Yosemite National Park?

    +

May to June for waterfalls, September to October for quiet trails. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Yosemite National Park?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
