My husband and boys had an amazing day today with Kevin. He went above and beyond to facilitate a very fruitful day of fishing. Between the three of them, approximately 20 fish. Everyone was happy and were very grateful that they chose the tour to show them the way. My guys have fly fished before so they didn’t spend much time on technique but they said Kevin knew his stuff. Thanks so much to echo and Kevin for an unforgettable day!

Full Day Fly Fishing in Yosemite

Best Outing of California Adventure!
This was the highlight of our trip! My husband and I were visiting Yosemite with our 13 year old grandson. They are both fisherman but lake fishing in SC. Kevin , our guide, made the whole trip so fun and easy. Communication with the company before our trip was so easy and all my questions were answered. The lady I spoke with looked at where we were staying and chose the closest place for is to meet Kevin. He was right on time and helped us load up and was very knowledgeable about the area we drove through. We went to a beautiful spot on a small river with just enough rocks and rapids to satisfy the 70 year olds and the 13 year old! We all caught fish with the grandson bringing in 14! Everything was provided including great lunches, reusable metal water bottles, chairs ( which we only used at lunchtime) Kevin was so accommodating for photos making sure each fish was documented before released. We had been at several of the major attractions (Alcatraz, Muir Woods, Pt Reyes Seashore) during our trip but Davis names this his favorite of the whole trip! Thanks for the memories!! Highly recommend this company!

Great Experience for Novice Fly Fishers
Kevin was a great guide. He was on time, very patient and a very good instructor. HE knew some great spots to fish. I caught three rainbows and my wife also caught a couple. For our first time fly fishing it was a great experience. The lunch provided was tasty and filling, and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. We would rebook with Echo.

Best Learning Experience for Beginners!
Outstanding way to learn how to fly fish correctly. Kevin was an excellent and patient instructor and showed us that skill makes all the difference! Very flexible if you prefer a picturesque setting vs. just wanting to catch fish.

Why this scores 76
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Full Day Fly Fishing For Beginners and Experienced Anglers: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Yosemite National Park.
How much does Private Full Day Fly Fishing For Beginners and Experienced Anglers cost?
+
Prices start at $305 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Yosemite National Park usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Full Day Fly Fishing For Beginners and Experienced Anglers take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Yosemite National Park is not rushed.
Is Private Full Day Fly Fishing For Beginners and Experienced Anglers worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Yosemite National Park, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Full Day Fly Fishing For Beginners and Experienced Anglers?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Full Day Fly Fishing For Beginners and Experienced Anglers suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Full Day Fly Fishing For Beginners and Experienced Anglers?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Yosemite National Park can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Yosemite National Park and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Full Day Fly Fishing For Beginners and Experienced Anglers start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Yosemite National Park within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Yosemite National Park?
+
Yosemite tours cover Valley loops to El Capitan and Half Dome viewpoints, Glacier Point sunsets, Mariposa Grove sequoias and waterfall hikes in spring melt. Day trips from San Francisco run long, so we weight transparency on drive time. On Outty we rank every Yosemite National Park experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour, Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour, Yosemite Winter Highlights Small Group Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Yosemite National Park?
+
May to June for waterfalls, September to October for quiet trails. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Yosemite National Park?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
