The Death’s Door Bluff Kayak Tour is the perfect combination of serenity and adventure. On this tour, we see several of Door County’s secret spots including the Schooner Fleetwing Shipwreck, Native American Pictographs, rock cairns of Door Bluff County Park, the highest natural spot in Door County, and a view of Washington Island. Because we meet at the launch site, no time is spent driving to and from the tour location, making this tour a great option for someone who wants to spend as much time on the water as possible. Mediocre

Original plan was derailed because staffing issues or overbooking. Uncertain. Suddenly day before our hike kayak tour got cancelled and we accommodated to this trip. Sure. No problem Then we get to the tour and at the last moment there aren’t enough oars for everyone. Poorly prepared. No communication with the tour guy on number of participants and insufficient gear They told my son to give up the oar because he was the youngest. What the hell?! One of the kayaks had a broken strap so they were a kayak down. In general, poor preparation, poor communication, insufficient gear Tour itself was fine. Lovely area. Just had to paddle for two

Great kayak adventure for the family

We had a great afternoon on the water with our guide, River. We have visited Door County several times and it was fun to learn more about the history of the area, its people, plants, and geology. The scenery was spectacular, with the view of the bluffs from the water. We don’t have a lot of experience kayaking but River put us at ease and our family had a great time! Highly recommend!

A very nice afternoon on the water!

It was a very nice 1 hour and 45 minutes on the water. River, our guide, is new to the area, and he did a fine job of guiding us. He is very knowledgeable about kayaking, kayak instruction, and kayak safety. He did a very nice job of keeping the group together, was very pleasant and polite and helpful. Being new to the area, he’s just getting up to speed on all the rich history of the area. I’m sure that as he learns more about that history, his narrative, which was very good, will become even better.

    Safe Adventure!

6 first time kayakers had a wonderful time, safe, sound and thoroughly entertained. Devin is a great guide!

Response from the operator: Great to hear! Thanks for coming out and we hope you get a chance to come back and experience one of our other locations to kayak.

Death's Door Bluff Kayak Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Green Bay & Door County.

How much does Death's Door Bluff Kayak Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Green Bay & Door County usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Death's Door Bluff Kayak Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 1.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Green Bay & Door County is not rushed.

Is Death's Door Bluff Kayak Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Green Bay & Door County, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Death's Door Bluff Kayak Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Death's Door Bluff Kayak Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Death's Door Bluff Kayak Tour?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Green Bay & Door County can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Green Bay & Door County and add a light layer if any part of the 1.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Death's Door Bluff Kayak Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Green Bay & Door County within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Green Bay & Door County?

    +

Green Bay and Door County pair Lambeau Field stadium tours with peninsula lighthouse drives, boat cruises, kayak paddles to the sea caves and orchard and winery stops. On Outty we rank every Green Bay & Door County experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cave Point Kayak Tour, Door County Day Trips: Sightseeing Top to Bottom, Hearthstone Historic House Museum Admission Ticket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Green Bay & Door County?

    +

June to October, with fall colour peaking mid-October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Green Bay & Door County?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
