What you get

    About this experience

Door County’s northern peninsula is a blend of small coastal villages, quirky oddities, and natural beauty. This self-guided driving tour takes you through the county’s most scenic landscapes, from Bailey’s Harbor on Lake Michigan to Fish Creek on Green Bay, while you listen to fascinating stories along the way. The tour starts at Anclam Town Park in Bailey’s Harbor. I’ll show you the area where Door County’s settlement began, when Captain Justice Bailey sought shelter from a storm in 1848. As you drive along the peninsula, you’ll travel through historic fishing villages, and visit scenic overlooks perched high above the water. Once you’ve completed a loop of the northern thumb, including stops at Sister Bay, Ellison Bay, and Fish Creek, the tour ends at Wood Orchard Market near Egg Harbor. Along the way, you’ll discover the perfect mix of natural beauty and local culture, and hear some of the stories behind this “Cape Cod of the Midwest.“

    Door county

It was so nice to get out and see things we never knew about. We stretched it over three days and had a wonderful time.

    total disappointment

We could not get the program to load and were unable to use the tour. Totally worthless expense. Don't buy this!

Response from the operator: Hi there, I'm sorry that you were unhappy with your experience. Can you email more information to support@voicemap.me? This way, we can identify exactly what went wrong. Did you not receive the email and SMS with instructions we sent you when you booked? We can troubleshoot the issue and process a refund if you email us your details. I'm sorry for your frustrating experience.

    We love self guided tours!

Once we worked with the app, it was easy. Very informative. There is a page that lists the your route. You can skip parts and click on right where you want to go.

    10 out of 10!!!!

We had a great time using this tour. We did this tour in 2 separate days as there are many places to stop and see. The timing was on point with the voice and the navigation. I recommend this to everyone. 10 out of 10!

    Hard to follow at times

Not that interesting and hard to follow at times. Would help if car speed was suggested. Next turns were often voiced when moving through or at the intersection.

Response from the operator: Hi there, I'm sorry that you were unhappy with your experience. The tour is designed to give enough notice of turns or lane changes when you drive the speed limit. We also provide a map to the tour on your screen, which is especially helpful for driving tours, so we'd recommend having a look at the map if you're uncertain about the route in future. Once again, I'm sorry for the experience you had. Best, Helene

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Green Bay & Door County.

How much does Door County’s Northern Peninsula: A Self-Guided Drive cost?

    +

Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Green Bay & Door County usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Door County’s Northern Peninsula: A Self-Guided Drive take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Green Bay & Door County is not rushed.

Is Door County’s Northern Peninsula: A Self-Guided Drive worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Green Bay & Door County, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Door County’s Northern Peninsula: A Self-Guided Drive?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Door County’s Northern Peninsula: A Self-Guided Drive suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Door County’s Northern Peninsula: A Self-Guided Drive?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Green Bay & Door County can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Green Bay & Door County and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

What are the best things to do in Green Bay & Door County?

    +

Green Bay and Door County pair Lambeau Field stadium tours with peninsula lighthouse drives, boat cruises, kayak paddles to the sea caves and orchard and winery stops. On Outty we rank every Green Bay & Door County experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cave Point Kayak Tour, Door County Day Trips: Sightseeing Top to Bottom, Hearthstone Historic House Museum Admission Ticket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Green Bay & Door County?

    +

June to October, with fall colour peaking mid-October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Green Bay & Door County?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
