Must Go experience - Tanzania with Bariki & Calvin

Thanks for our two professional and meticulous tour guide - Bariki and Calvin, our trip has been extremely memorable and exciting! They could always spot the wild animals from their hiding places, got us good angles to take photos, care all our needs even as small as having bottle of Ginger Ale! Also, they are with good knowledge not only about the animals and the safari but also the history and information of Tanzania!!! Places in Tanzania are much cleaner and comfortable than expected (even the public toilets), staff of all the lodges are friendly and helpful. Food and drinks are good and table are well set with table cloth and even got us wineeeee!

Response from the operator: Dear Catherine, Thank you for such a wonderful review. We loved reading it — and the Ginger Ale and “wineeeee!” certainly made us smile! What makes your feedback especially meaningful is that you noticed both the big moments and the very small ones. Finding wildlife hidden in the bush and positioning the vehicle so guests have a good angle for photography requires experience, patience and a very sharp eye. Bariki and Calvin are both guides we are extremely proud of, and hearing how their knowledge and professionalism contributed to such a memorable journey means a great deal to us. But remembering that a guest enjoys a bottle of Ginger Ale? That tells another side of the story. For us, excellent guiding is not only about how many animals you find. It is about paying attention to the people travelling with you — understanding what makes them comfortable, noticing their preferences and taking care of the small details without needing to be asked repeatedly. Bariki and Calvin, hongera sana. Catherine noticed your effort, your knowledge, your attention to detail and the way you looked after the group. Keep that standard high. We were also very happy to read that you learned about more than wildlife. Tanzania has extraordinary animals, but it also has a rich history, culture, landscapes and people. A knowledgeable local guide should help guests understand the country they are travelling through, not simply identify what is standing beside the safari vehicle. And yes, we are pleased you enjoyed the food and our safari lunch setup! We believe that being deep in the bush does not mean guests should settle for an uninspiring lunch box. Sitting down together to a properly prepared meal, with a tablecloth, good food, drinks — and apparently enough wineeeee! — becomes another enjoyable part of the safari day. Your comments about the cleanliness, comfort and friendly lodge teams throughout Tanzania also make us proud of our country and the many people working across its tourism industry. Catherine, thank you for choosing Gosheni Safaris and for trusting Bariki and Calvin with your Tanzania adventure. Calling it a “Must Go experience” is a wonderful compliment, but knowing that you returned home remembering the people, wildlife, photography, hospitality and even those little personal touches means even more to us. From Bariki, Calvin and the entire Gosheni Safaris team here in Tanzania — asante sana! We hope your photographs bring back these memories for many years. And should you return one day, we will make sure there is Ginger Ale waiting!

Best tour guides award goes to Bariki and Calvin.

5 out of 5! Best tour guides award goes to Bariki and Calvin!!!!!! We are so lucky to have the best tour guides in Tanzania. Really enjoyed our 8 days 7 nights safari tour - seeing all the animals in safaris, the wildebeest crossing. Bariki and Calvin are so experienced, nice, kind, friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly, detailed oriented. We feel so honoured and comfortable to spend the days with them- it is really one of my best memory in life. Ansante-sana Bariki and Calvin again! We will be BACK.

Response from the operator: Dear Vivi, “Best tour guides award goes to Bariki and Calvin!” — I think the two of them will be very happy when they read this! Thank you, Vivi, for such a heartfelt review and for spending your 8-day Tanzania safari with Gosheni Safaris. Of course, seeing Tanzania’s incredible wildlife and witnessing the wildebeest river crossing are unforgettable experiences. But the sentence that meant the most to us was when you said that the days you spent with Bariki and Calvin became “one of my best memories in life.” That is a very special compliment. For eight days, your guides become such an important part of your journey. You spend long hours together, searching for wildlife, sharing meals, laughing, learning and experiencing moments that cannot be planned in advance. For guests to finish that journey feeling not only impressed by their guides' knowledge and experience, but genuinely comfortable and happy in their company, is exactly what we want. Bariki and Calvin — hongera sana! Vivi described you as experienced, kind, friendly, knowledgeable and, importantly, detail-oriented. That last quality matters greatly. Excellent safari guiding is often found in the small things: noticing what guests need before they ask, keeping the vehicle prepared, finding the right position at a wildlife sighting, knowing when to wait patiently, and making sure everyone remains comfortable throughout a long day in the bush. We are extremely proud to have both of you representing Gosheni Safaris and Tanzania. Vivi, thank you for trusting our team with your journey. As a locally owned Tanzanian safari company, there is something deeply rewarding about welcoming guests to our country and then hearing that eight days exploring it with our people became one of their best memories in life. And we certainly noticed those final words: “We will be BACK.” That may be the greatest compliment of all. The first time you came as our guests; when you return, we will be welcoming familiar faces. From Bariki, Calvin and everyone at Gosheni Safaris — asante sana, Vivi! We will be very happy to see you back in Tanzania for the next adventure.

You cannot miss Bariki and Calvin - A honest review from Hong Kong people

Me and my husband joined the tour with group of friends on August 2026. I have to say this is an unforgettable experience and once in a lifetime to start your wildlife adventure with Gosheni Safari, especially thanks to our guide Bariki and Calvin. They are experienced, knowledgeable, funny, helpful and very gentleman! All things are well arranged and nothing is delayed or broken. The car is maintained well, full A/C with enough WiFi. They managed to find the big five animals in short period of time, they can always find a good spot for us to take good pictures, they can share knowledge from a plant to animals and local people, so I think this is a good price for buying a “guaranteed” wildlife game drive experience! We have a good time with Bariki and Calvin, endless laughter and memories for us to enjoy ☺️ I would recommend all people in the internet to join their tour 100%.

Response from the operator: Dear Sueyilo, What a wonderful message to receive all the way from Hong Kong. Thank you for sharing such an honest and detailed account of your August safari with us. You and your husband came to Tanzania with friends hoping for a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife adventure, and reading that you left with “endless laughter and memories” makes all of us at Gosheni Safaris extremely happy. And once again, Bariki and Calvin — you have made your guests proud! Sueyilo, you described them as experienced, knowledgeable, funny, helpful and gentlemen. That combination is exactly what we look for in our guides. Safari days can be long, and guests spend many hours together with their guides. Knowledge is essential, but personality, patience, kindness and genuine care are what make those long days enjoyable. We were particularly pleased that you noticed their ability to find good positions for photography. Wildlife does not follow our timetable, and sightings can never truly be guaranteed. What experienced guides like Bariki and Calvin can do is understand animal behaviour, read the landscape, know the areas intimately and use years of field experience to give their guests the best possible opportunities. Finding the Big Five within such a short period certainly gave your group an exciting start! I also loved that you mentioned learning about everything “from a plant to animals and local people.” Tanzania is much more than a checklist of famous wildlife. A good local guide should help guests understand the entire environment and the country they are travelling through. Your comments about the operation behind the safari are equally appreciated. When you say that everything was well arranged, nothing was delayed, and the vehicle was properly maintained with full A/C and Wi-Fi, that tells us our operations team did its job correctly. Guests should be concentrating on Tanzania, their photographs and the experience — not worrying about the vehicle or daily logistics. As a locally owned Tanzanian safari company, that reliability matters enormously to us. The beautiful animals belong to nature; what we are responsible for is the quality of the guiding, vehicles, planning, safety and care surrounding the experience. Bariki and Calvin, hongera sana. You gave your guests excellent wildlife viewing, but perhaps more importantly, you gave them eight days of comfort, knowledge, friendship and plenty of laughter. Keep that standard high. Sueyilo, thank you for choosing Gosheni Safaris and for recommending us so wholeheartedly to other travelers. We know there are many safari companies to choose from, and we never take that trust for granted. From Bariki, Calvin and all of us here at Gosheni Safaris Asante sana to you, your husband and your friends. You called it a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, but Tanzania has a habit of bringing people back. If that happens, we will be waiting to welcome you again hopefully with Bariki and Calvin ready for another round of laughter!

An Unforgettable Wildlife Adventure with Calvin and Bariki!

Our trip was an unforgettable adventure filled with incredible wildlife and complete immersion in nature. From start to finish, every moment was memorable. Our guides, Calvin and Bariki, truly made the experience exceptional. Their deep knowledge of the local ecosystem brought every sighting to life, and their attentiveness ensured we were comfortable and cared for throughout. Whether we were spotting amazing animals or learning fascinating details about the wilderness, everything exceeded our expectations. The trip was an absolute blast, and we cannot recommend them enough!

Response from the operator: Dear Sze Nga, Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful words about your journey with Gosheni Safaris. We especially loved reading that you felt completely immersed in nature. Tanzania provides the extraordinary landscapes and wildlife, but it takes knowledgeable and caring guides to help guests understand what is happening around them — and we are extremely proud that Calvin and Bariki did exactly that for you. Calvin and Bariki, hongera sana! Your knowledge of the ecosystem clearly made a difference. A memorable safari is not simply about finding an elephant, lion or cheetah and moving on to the next sighting. It is about helping guests understand animal behavior, the surrounding environment and how everything in the wilderness is connected. When that knowledge is combined with patience and genuine attention to guests' comfort, the safari becomes something much deeper. Sze Nga, we also appreciate that you mentioned how well cared for you felt throughout the journey. That is very important to us at Gosheni Safaris. Behind the exciting wildlife moments, our responsibility is to make sure our guests can relax and enjoy Tanzania while we take care of the guiding, vehicles, timing and daily logistics. As a locally owned Tanzanian safari company, we are especially proud when our own guides leave guests with this kind of connection to our country's wildlife and wilderness. You said that “every moment was memorable” and that the experience exceeded your expectations. There is no better feedback for our team than that. Thank you for choosing Gosheni Safaris and for giving Calvin and Bariki the recognition they deserve. I will make sure your kind words are shared with them personally. From Calvin, Bariki and everyone at Gosheni Safaris, asante sana, Sze Nga. The safari may have ended, but we hope the wildlife, the wilderness and all the memories you created in Tanzania stay with you for a very long time. Karibu tena Tanzania!

Amazing experience with Bariki and Calvin!! ✨

The whole experience is smooth and easy. The tour guides picked up us from Kilimanjaro airport and dropped us off at the accommodation for a rest and ready for the next day the safari starts. The whole experience is amazing and magical. The guide Bariki is professional and knowledgeable. Calvin is friendly and kind. Both are very attentive and helpful! We are a big group of friends traveling but the trip was very well organised. The accommodation is well chosen, all more comfortable than expected, food is better than expectation. Lunch was not just a sandwich pack lunch but cooked meals. Everyday the jeep was cleaned and refreshed, the ride is comfortable.

Response from the operator: Dear Skyla, Thank you so much for this wonderful review. Your words “smooth and easy” may sound simple, but for our team they are one of the best compliments we can receive. Especially with a large group of friends, there are many moving parts behind a safari — airport arrivals, vehicles, accommodation, meals, luggage, daily timings and game-drive logistics. Our job is to take care of those details properly so that our guests do not have to think about them. They should simply arrive, relax and enjoy Tanzania. We are therefore very happy that this is exactly how your journey felt, beginning with your pickup at Kilimanjaro Airport. And of course, a very special recognition goes to Bariki and Calvin. Skyla, thank you for describing Bariki as professional and knowledgeable, and Calvin as friendly and kind. What pleased me even more was that you found both of them attentive and helpful throughout the journey. Great safari guiding requires knowledge and experience, but genuine care for guests is equally important. Bariki and Calvin — hongera sana once again. You looked after a large group, kept everyone comfortable and helped turn their Tanzania journey into what they describe as an amazing and magical experience. Keep that standard high. I was also pleased that you noticed the condition of the safari vehicles. Having the Jeep cleaned, checked and refreshed every day is not something guests should have to ask for — it should simply be done. Our vehicles spend demanding days on Tanzania's safari roads, so cleanliness and proper preparation every morning are an important part of our operating standards. And thank you for mentioning the food! We strongly believe that a long safari day deserves more than simply opening a sandwich box. Sitting down during the game drive and enjoying a proper cooked meal is a small part of the day that can make a big difference, particularly when travelling for several days. It is equally rewarding to hear that the accommodations were more comfortable than you expected. Choosing the right properties is not about selecting accommodation in isolation; they need to fit the routing, location, comfort expectations and overall safari experience. Skyla, as a locally owned Tanzanian safari company, we are proud when guests notice both sides of what we do: the wonderful people such as Bariki and Calvin whom you meet every day, and the operations happening quietly behind them to keep the journey running smoothly. Thank you to you and your friends for choosing Gosheni Safaris and trusting us with your Tanzania adventure. From Bariki, Calvin and our entire Gosheni Safaris team — asante sana, Skyla! We are delighted that what began with a pickup at Kilimanjaro Airport ended as an experience you describe as “amazing and magical.” We hope those memories and friendships made along the way stay with your group for many years. Karibu tena Tanzania!

7 Days Tanganyika Wilderness Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.

How much does 7 Days Tanganyika Wilderness Safari cost?

+

Prices start at $4229 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 7 Days Tanganyika Wilderness Safari take?

+

Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.

Is 7 Days Tanganyika Wilderness Safari worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 187 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 7 Days Tanganyika Wilderness Safari?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 7 Days Tanganyika Wilderness Safari suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 2. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 168-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 7 Days Tanganyika Wilderness Safari?

+

Around 65 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 7 Days Tanganyika Wilderness Safari start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Arusha?

+

On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Arusha?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Arusha?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
