Materuni Waterfalls
Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. This charming place is just 15km away from Moshi Town and is the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park. First you will visit the waterfalls, which are around a 40-minute walk away. On the way, trail can be slippery & muddy best to have good hiking boots. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim so don‘t forget your swimwear! After having enjoyed the scenery, you slowly return with your guide to Materuni village, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste our local banana beer – definitely not to be missed! Tip: Chagga tribesmen are Tanzania’s finest brewers

Kikuletwa Hotsprings
After the coffee tour in Materuni your trip continues to the Kikuletwa Hot Springs. The ride to the hot springs takes about an hour and 20 minutes and leads partly over bumpy slopes Enjoy a wonderful afternoon in just the way you want, in the sun dozing, chatting with the locals at the small bar, or swimming - you determine the course. We leave the hot springs in the late afternoon (just before sunset) and return relaxed to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Note: have swimming wear & towels

Great time
I had a great time with my tour guide innocent. As a solo traveller I felt very comfortable and safe. I would greatly recommended this trip as the waterfalls was stunning and the coffee plantation was super fun. 10/10!

So worth it
This was such a wonderful experience and my tour guide was Musa. I had the most amazing experience with him. He showed me everywhere that was listed on the itinerary and he was so patient and fully present. It was like hanging out with an old friend. I enjoyed our conversations on the long drives which made it so worth it. I went solo and felt completely safe. It felt like a private experience, and I totally enjoyed the Mataruni village and seeing the beautiful and magnificent waterfall and just enjoying and exploring the village and also I did the coffee tour. I learned how to make the coffee and I tried the coffee and it was just a beautiful beautiful day and after that we went to the Hot Springs and that was also amazing as well so this experience was definitely a 10 out of 10 experience and I highly recommend booking with this company and I highly recommend my tour guide Musa.

Perfect Day Trip: Refreshing Swim, Great Views & Top-Notch Guide
We had an unforgettable time on this tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Benson! From start to finish, he was exceptionally helpful, friendly, and attentive. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the local culture and history, and he patiently and thoroughly answered every single question we threw his way throughout the day. Swimming at the springs was an absolute highlight—so refreshing, beautiful, and tons of fun. On top of that, we were lucky enough to catch amazing views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance, which made the whole trip feel even more magical. Everything was smooth, well-organized, and genuinely enjoyable. Highly recommended!

2 day Sight seeing with Honest
Had a great two days with Safari soles before a wedding and Safari. The communication with our Safari organiser Hawa Thomas was off the chart before we booked and helped with every question so jumped at the chance to do a little sight seeing which she moved about at our needs. Our two day guide “Honest” was great. He did his best with the road conditions ( up by the waterfall you think it’s and tank test track) and always had a calming word or fact to keep the trip enjoyable. He kept the pace of the hike just right and would stop to tell you some information on the surroundings if he suspected a rest was needed. The waterfall was spectacular and the pool very cold only for the brave or stupid .Honest never rushed anything even on the long first day. Coffee tour wasn’t what we expected but was a good laugh and very safe ( food was lovely, so much of it we felt guilty leaving it) . The coffee we made was actually nice. They do a little selling at the end but it was fair and not hard sell like the stalls. No need for the haggle dance. Hot springs was a lovely pool oasis. We turned up at the same time as a Kenyan school day trip so a little crowded. My daughters did like joining them on the rope swing jumping into the main pool. There is quiet pool that’s deeper and has the nibbling fish ( tickles nothing more) that you can start at and drift to the main. The changing facilities are minimal. They maybe fine when there isn’t a school party. 2 nd day was at Duluti lake and a lovely nature tour in a gondola we did expect canoes but eldest daughter was a little under the weather so didn’t question it. Lots of birds- 3 types of King Fishers, weavers, ducks , egrets,kites etc. a troop of monkeys and monitor lizards. Had a packed lunch and then headed home. Down sides - you do have a long drive from Arusha but that can’t be helped. We did stop at a tourist stall before the waterfall so be ready with your haggling. We weren’t ready but we all learn. I really do endorse safari soles for their staff who make sure all your worry’s are answered. We did a lot of looking about and found so many chat bot or automated replies from other operators ( they be great once you get past that level) .
