Seven Days on the Lemosho Route – A Truly Memorable Kilimanjaro Experience
Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho Route with Tanzania Songbirds Safaris was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences we have ever had. We chose the 7-day Lemosho Route because we wanted to take our time and properly experience the mountain rather than rush through it. From the first day, we noticed how well the trek was organised. The route gradually takes you through different landscapes, from the beautiful forest and quiet trails to the higher moorlands and the more dramatic alpine environment. Every day brought something different, and the scenery was incredible. The support from the entire crew made a huge difference. They were friendly, hardworking and always attentive to what we needed during the trek. On the more difficult days, their encouragement helped us keep going, especially when the altitude and long walking hours started to become challenging. It was clear that everyone worked together as a team to make the climb as comfortable and safe as possible. We were also impressed by the meals throughout the trek. After several hours of walking each day, having a warm and well-prepared meal at camp was something we really appreciated. The tents and camp arrangements were also handled well, giving us a chance to rest and recover before the next day's hike. The summit night was definitely the hardest part, but also the most unforgettable. Walking through the darkness toward Uhuru Peak, tired but determined, and eventually reaching the summit was an incredible feeling. Standing there and seeing the sunrise over Tanzania made all the difficult moments worthwhile. A big thank you to the entire Tanzania Songbirds Safaris mountain crew for their hard work, patience and encouragement throughout the seven days. They helped turn a physically demanding climb into a very special experience that we will remember for a long time. If you are considering the Lemosho Route, be prepared for a real challenge, but also for incredible landscapes, wonderful moments and a great sense of achievement at the top of Africa. We are very happy we chose Tanzania Songbirds Safaris for our Kilimanjaro adventure.

An incredible 7-day Kilimanjaro trek with Tanzania Songbirds Safaris!
My partner and I just finished a 7-day climb up Mount Kilimanjaro with Tanzania Songbirds Safaris, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. From our first inquiry until the final drop-off back at the hotel, everything was handled with complete professionalism and genuine care. Planning a couple’s trip for something as intense as Kili can feel overwhelming, but the team took all the stress off our shoulders. The gear checks before we set off were thorough, the camp setup every evening was spot-on, and the food prepared by the mountain cook was surprisingly delicious and plentiful—exactly what you need when burning that many calories every day. The absolute highlight of our trip was our lead guides, Baraka and Martin. They are absolute rockstars. Throughout the entire trek, they monitored our oxygen levels and pulse twice daily, kept a steady, manageable pole pole pace, and constantly checked in on how we were coping with the altitude. On summit night—which is mentally and physically tough—Baraka and Martin were right by our side, keeping our spirits high, pacing us step-by-step through the cold, and ensuring we made it safely all the way to Uhuru Peak for sunrise. The entire support crew, from the porters carrying the equipment to the camp team who always welcomed us with warm water for washing and hot tea, worked endlessly hard to make sure we were safe and comfortable. If you are planning to climb Kilimanjaro, do not hesitate to book with Tanzania Songbirds Safaris. Baraka, Martin, and the crew made what could have been an intimidating challenge into one of the best accomplishments of our lives. 10/10 recommendation!

An Unforgettable Journey from the Top of Kilimanjaro through Machame route!
Tanzania Songbirds Safaris was the best local tour company in Tanzania. From the moment we landed in Tanzania, Tanzania Songbirds Safaris made us feel like family. Israel and his entire team went above and beyond to make sure every single detail of our trip was seamless, safe, and truly unforgettable. We took the 7-day Kilimanjaro via Machame route and I can say our mountain crew are the very high class experienced mountaineers. The guides kept us motivated with constant encouragement, the food at camp was surprisingly delicious and fueling, and their focus on safety and acclimatization made all the difference in getting us to Uhuru Peak. If you plan a hiki of Kilimanjaro and all trip to Tanzania, we do not recommend anyone else than Tanzania Songbirds Safari. Tanzania Songbirds Safaris is transparent, professional, deeply knowledgeable, and treats you with a genuine heart. We arrived as clients and left as lifelong friends!
