7 Days Machame Route – A Real Adventure ✨🏔️

The 7 Days Machame Route to Kilimanjaro was an incredible adventure. We went as a group of 5 friends, accompanied by our amazing guides: Justin, Naomi, and Zacharia, as well as by 17 crew members, including lovely Kelvin, Dastan, and George, who made sure we are fed, warm, and happy at all times. I would not have made it to the summit if it wasn't for them. The trek was very challenging due to the altitude but the crew motivated us every step of the way whilst making sure we are safe to continue. I would definitely recommend Zanzi Trekking and especially our Crew 💫 🌋

Thanks to all the Zanzi team!

First of all thanks to Lawrence. He drove us from Nairobi to Arusha and took us to the Nairobi Giraffe Centre. First the Safari (4 days) Our safari guide Aron drove us safely through those difficult roads. He spent many hours driving every day so we could explore the Mara River for 2 days, the central Serengeti for 1 day, and Ngorongoro. Then he drove us back to Arusha safely. We saw many lions, 3 brother cheetahs hunting together, many elephants and giraffes. We sadly missed seeing the leopard, but Aron made the whole experience amazing. Now the Kilimanjaro Trek (7 days) Justin was our main guide. He was super helpful and explained everything about the mountain, the nature, the culture. His briefings were detailed and he answered all our questions. He was always there for us and made the trek so much better. Zachariah and Naomi were also guides who helped us throughout the whole trek. They were always supporting us and keeping us going. Daniel and George were our porters, the "Kili Warriors" as they like to be called. They helped us reach the summit on the final day and supported us throughout the 7 day trek. Our chef Dastan made great meals. I never ate so well. Kelvin made coffee every morning and helped us. Mohammed made us laugh with his jokes. Thanks to all the Zanzi team!

Incredible trek and team!

From the moment we arrived until we completed our trek, the whole experience was exceptional. Climbing Kilimanjaro is an incredible challenge, but having such a dedicated team made it so much more enjoyable. A massive thank you to Justin and Omary for being outstanding guides. Their encouragement, professionalism and genuine care for everyone in the group never went unnoticed. They kept us motivated through every stage of the climb and always made sure we were safe, comfortable and smiling, even on the hardest days. The entire crew deserves so much credit. The porters, chefs and support staff worked unbelievably hard every single day and always welcomed us into camp with warm smiles and amazing energy. Their teamwork and kindness created an experience that was far beyond what we expected. Calvin’s wake up calls with coffee and positive energy was a particular highlight and Danny’s support in reaching the summit was amazing. How many days do you need in Arusha?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
