6 days wildlife safari in Tanzania

A trip of lifetime!

We just returned from Tanzania at Rhino Explorer Tours Safaris. We had 2 trips that far exceeded our wildest dreams. I find the contact of this guys from a friend who did safari with them last year. Worrying and knowing nothing about Africa, I told Daniel that within our two weeks we wanted to do safari to see big Five and trekking Kilimanjaro. We gave him abudget that he respected and he planned an absolutely amazing adventures. Not only was each of the places we visited different from one another but each had its own specific charms. From the moment we go off the plane is Kikimanjaro and met our driver guide Joshua who is friendly and charming, we had a shortly brief while drive to the hotel. We arrived at Marimba hotel and had a cool night in a simple but fenced place with great staffs. In the hotel Joseph mananger and staff where warm friendly and kind, the food is excellent and service was great. Our knowledgeble guide frank meet us in the morning for Tarangire Park. The park was real amazing incaunter elephants, Lions and other animals. African elephants are even bigger than what on my mind before! We did also Lake manyara, serengeti and the crater. The crater was so wonderful, my wife she like the fact that animals hides inside huge pit. We were luck to see a lots of animals. Kilimanjaro trek was an experience that can't be described, Lemosho route was our choice, we had fantastic view from shira ridge.Our guide Julius and his team made our trekking smooth..drink a lot water and stretech slowly.. Polepole..he says. The last day was adventurous and hardiest of all. The soup prepared by cook every evening was so delicious and helpful. Thank you Juli we manage to summit Kilimanjaro. Consider that our trip included several places it all went off without a glitch. We had several nights inside mobile tent. I like the fact that we sleep inside the park area and visited by zebras around in serengeti. Once again, thank you guys and thank you Dan for answering my many questions and emails and for being friendly and patient with several phone calls. This whole adventure from beginning to end has been a trip of a lifetime thank to you. This was our experience and we definitly recommed

Great knowledge & respect for nature

Just got home from a crazy tour with amazing Malaki Tumsif as our guide. His knowledge and respect for animals and nature is incredible. He made this event something unforgettable. Anytime again

Rich experience!

For our first safari in Tanzania, the company advised us to choose Tarengire national park for its many animals. Lucas was the perfect guide. He shared with us his big knowledge about different species and animals, but also about the culture of the country as we saw Maasai villages before starting the safari. He took time to explain the way of living of each animal, showed us different trees and birds. We really had fun, Asante sana!

Do not use this company! Terrible Organisation, Unprofessional Attitdue

My wife and I did the 7 night wildebeest migration safari in mid-August 2019. We were picked up at the airport and driven to Arusha to meet Daniel and asked to handover the full trip cost in cash – several thousand USD. Do not do this as if we hadn’t we would have cancelled and used another company due to issues which occurred later. I suggest you ‘pay as you go’, only pay by credit card and get a receipt. Others did this on our tour. Once we paid the money Daniel failed to answer any of our calls during the trip when we tried to inform him of the guide’s behaviour or seek his assistance. It was really unprofessional. The first night, the guide, Malaki came to our hotel and told us he would pick us up the next day at 8am for our drive into the Serengeti. We were ready at 7.45am at reception having checked out of the hotel but Malaki did not arrive until 10.45am without bothering to answer our calls or inform us of the delay. Upon arrival Malaki informed us that he was late because the others on the tour wanted to sleep in. This caused an argument between us and the other tour members which was a disaster for starting our week long safari experience together. We later found out after bonding with the group that Malaki was in fact lying and the delay was due to the tour company not having all the equipment for the campers. This really was an awful start to the camaraderie of the group and almost ruined the holiday. One customer even left the group after this day due to having experienced the late departure twice in two days and the lies. The second night after a long drive to the Serengeti we arrived at what Malaki said was our hotel at 7pm only for us to be told at reception that it was full. Our hotel was in fact an hour’s drive away through the pitch black wilderness and Malaki with reckless driving hit a buffalo on the way and failed to stop or show any concern. The other tour members were camping near the first hotel so it meant we lost 2 hours of safari in the morning going to collect them. I would advise that either all members of the tour either stay in a hotel or camp. As we stayed in hotels but frequently had to wait for lengthy periods of time to pack up and set up the camping equipment for others in the morning and evening which made us miss a lot of the best time for safari experiences. The organisation was very poor especially when the hotel package is very expensive. The serengti heritage camp and kilimanjoa accommodation were really good with super staff but the rest were quite poor. The sernegeti heritage camp boss ensured we had a hot breakfast at 5.30am when all the others just gave us packed boxes. We never really got to enjoy the hotels during daylight as most of the time we were waiting for the campers to set up or pack up which again was really poor organisation. We repeatedly requested that he could drop us at the hotels whilst all the camp site activity was being done but Malaki just repeatedly ignored us and did whatever he felt like. This after spending double what the customers staying at the camp site paid. Wildlife was great. We saw the big 5 plus wildebeest migration and a lot more. However, after a while Malaki would not wait very long for us to take in the sites or see animals that we wanted to as he had a mind of his own and was always on the phone. On the way out of the Sernegti Malaki took us to a Masai camp of one of his friends and they tried to charge us $20 each just to visit the village. We all said no and Malaki spent the rest of the tour sulking, being grumpy and not listening to anything we requested. At the end one of the tour one member chose to give a tip to the chef but not Malaki due to his behaviour and Malaki, due to his arrogance, started shouting at him. It was really shocking. I really wouldn’t recommend this company. I would recommend you hire a private bus with a group of 4-6 friends/family and there were many tour companies which looked much more professional than this one.

We are a company which prides itself on our values and customer service, I must completely reject your criticism. First of all, your flight (booked by yourself)delayed for 20 hours result a full off day of your game drive. Second to correct one major inaccuracy quoted in your review. The fundamental mistaken claim by you to go Masai village. In fact simply the guide obeying your request to go to the Masai boma. Throughout the trip, you constantly chose to try to follow your own agenda with Nader, rather than listen to the instructions of your guides. You refused to take into account the wishes of the other passengers on this safari, including those in your own party. That detracted from the enjoyment of the trip. Nevertheless, let me quote below from the review of one of your fellow passengers who was on the same trip. You will see that they comment specifically on the qualities of the guides. Again we worked seriously hard for your lost bags to serengeti, thanks to other joiners didn't complain based on your situations. 4th again you mention mixing camping and lodge based on your request to keep budget low. It is 100% true that safari is expensive in Tanzania due to raised park fees to regulate number of clients and keep the national park pure (not exhausted for the future generation). 5th. We apology for mixing up campers and lodges specifically based on your request to low the budget. We take seriously this matter even through it was specific request. Also we are doing investigation based on the mentioned guide, if we will find this characters we will fire him out. Finally, We warmly welcome all our beloved clients for safari this was a specific situation based on different request. Thank you.

Dream safari in Tanzania

We spent a perfect week with our super driver Freddy and masterchef Rogers in Tanzania, the taxi was waiting for as at Kilimanjaro Airport and later also Daniel, the owner greeted us at the hotel, than we spent 5 days with another couple on safari, we spent the nights in the camps, the tent was OK, the camps have always beautiful panorama (they are although sometimes rather dirty...), our masterchef waited us every evening with fresh African dinner (very delicious always!). During the day we visited different national parks, in Serengeti we saw all the possible animals (Freddy is a talented driver we found sleeping lions, elephant families and lot of cheetahs in the early mornig and late afternoon hours), in Ngorongoro we only missed the rhino, but we saw the great migration at Mara river which is an unforgettable moment, we also enjoyed the Lake Manyara Park, the village nearby and the fig tree lodge is the nicest place with very welcoming staff. We enjoyed every moment, absolutely to recommend!! Asante sana, Daniel! Iza & Mark
