The tour was absolutely perfect, with everything organized down to the smallest detail, and it was a wonderful holiday. Our driver was Reginald, and he was amazing—polite, knowledgeable, professional, and also very friendly and kind. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. I had never been to Tanzania before, and now I think it might be my favorite country.

His professionalism, knowledge, politeness and warm personality are qualities we greatly value, and we are so happy that he helped make your safari even more special. Hearing that Tanzania may now be your favorite country is one of the greatest compliments we could receive. Exceptional safari experience with a great guide, perfectly organized and worth every penny

We are a couple in our early 30s and spent an incredible safari with Samora Explorers in August, visiting Tarangire, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. We absolutely loved every part of the experience and would highly recommend the tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari in Tanzania. We were incredibly lucky to see all of the Big Five multiple times. Some of our absolute highlights were huge lion prides with their cubs in the Serengeti, a tree-climbing leopard, rhinos super close to our vehicle, and elephants bathing right in front of us. The wildlife experiences were truly beyond what we had hoped for. A huge part of what made the safari so special was our guide, Reggie. He was extremely experienced, knowledgeable and always happy to answer all of our questions. He also drove very safely and professionally. We had two flat tires during the trip – which can simply happen on safari – and on both occasions we happened to be right next to lions! Reggie handled both situations incredibly calmly, quickly and professionally, which made us feel completely safe. We also really enjoyed the evenings, when we often had dinner together with Reggie. It was always relaxed, fun and very sociable, and we really appreciated getting to know him beyond the safari itself. The communication with Samora Explorers before the trip was also excellent. Every question, request and change was answered within just a few hours, always in a very friendly and helpful way. Even short-notice requests were accommodated whenever possible, which made the whole planning process completely stress-free. Overall, this was an amazing experience from beginning to end. We would absolutely book with Samora Explorers again and can highly recommend them – and especially Reggie as a guide. The safari was worth every penny!

Response from the operator: Hi , What a pleasure it is to read such a detailed review! We are so happy to know that your time in Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara gave you the unforgettable safari you were hoping for. From the Big Five to the lion prides, tree-climbing leopard, rhinos and elephants bathing, you experienced some truly special moments in the wild. We are delighted that these encounters exceeded your expectations. And of course, a big thank you for recognizing Reggie. His knowledge, patience and calm approach are a wonderful reflection of the kind of service we want our guests to experience. We are particularly glad that you felt safe and well looked after, even when those two unexpected flat tires happened! We also appreciate you mentioning the evenings spent together. These personal moments and conversations are often what turn a safari into more than just a holiday — they create genuine connections and memories. Your kind comments about our communication and flexibility before the trip are equally appreciated. We are always happy when our guests feel that their questions and requests are handled with care. Thank you for putting your trust in Samora Explorers and for recommending us and Reggie so warmly. We would be delighted to have you back in Tanzania for another adventure. Asante sana, and Karibu tena! Best Regards Samora Explorers

An amazing safari through Tanzania with Samora Explorers

What an amazing experience we had with Samora Explorer! Julius, our guide, was a very peaceful, passionate and lovable person. The way he guided us throughout our journey was absolutely fantastic. He is a truly experienced guide who doesn’t just take you through the parks, but somehow makes you feel like you are actually living the experience. He knows so much about the animals, nature and the parks, and his enthusiasm made every safari even more special. Julius truly embodies the spirit of Samora Explorer and his passion for this work is something you can feel every single day. He always took the time to answer our questions, explain what we were seeing and make sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. 6-DayThe Best of Northern Tanzania Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.

How much does 6-DayThe Best of Northern Tanzania Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $2440 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 6-DayThe Best of Northern Tanzania Safari take?

    +

Plan for about 144 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.

Is 6-DayThe Best of Northern Tanzania Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 62 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 6-DayThe Best of Northern Tanzania Safari?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 6-DayThe Best of Northern Tanzania Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 144-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 6-DayThe Best of Northern Tanzania Safari?

    +

Around 22 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 144-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 6-DayThe Best of Northern Tanzania Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Arusha?

    +

On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Arusha?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Arusha?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
