RO Scavenger Safaris are the best company!
RO Scavenger Safaris exceeded every expectation I had, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the very first moment we set off into the wilderness, I knew this was going to be something truly special. The guides are absolutely exceptional — knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly attentive. They spotted animals I would have completely missed on my own, sharing fascinating facts about each creature and the ecosystem around us. Their expertise genuinely elevated the entire experience. The vehicles were comfortable and well-maintained, the accommodations were superb, and every logistical detail was handled with impressive professionalism. Nothing was ever left to chance — everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. What truly set RO Scavenger Safaris apart, however, was the warm and personal touch they bring to everything they do. You never feel like just another tourist passing through — you feel welcomed, valued, and cared for like family. The crew goes above and beyond to make sure every single guest is happy and having the time of their life. Every sunrise game drive left me breathless. Every sunset over the golden savannah felt like a painting came to life. Every unexpected wildlife encounter — lions, elephants, leopards — had me reaching for my camera with shaking hands and a pounding heart. I have travelled with several safari companies across Africa, but RO Scavenger Safaris stands in a league entirely of their own. The memories I made with them will stay with me forever. If you are thinking about going on safari, stop thinking and just book with RO Scavenger Safaris. You will not regret it — I promise you that! 🦁

What really matters in Tanzania safari – company transparency and an excellent driver
I visited Serengeti just before the peak season. Fewer vehicles, no crowding around animals, and a sense of openness that made the experience even more memorable. Many people ask me what truly matters when booking a safari. My answer is not about budget or number of days. It comes down to two things: the safari company and the driver. 1. Safari company – transparency over price comparison Instead of comparing dozens of quotes, I did something different. First, I decided which hotels I wanted to stay at. Then I asked the company to provide a breakdown. They showed me the actual cost price of each hotel and added their margin. I believe good service deserves fair payment, so as long as the total was within my comfort zone, I booked with them. No endless back-and-forth. What also mattered was how they handled things after booking: Did they follow the itinerary as promised? How did they respond to unexpected issues (car trouble, road closures)? Was communication smooth and honest? A good company saves you stress. A bad one makes you argue while you should be enjoying the bush. 2. Driver and vehicle – the vehicle is standard, the driver is everything Most safari vehicles are similar – fridge, charging ports, bottled water. The real difference is the driver. My driver was Robin. 15 years of experience. Here is why he stood out: He can fix cars. The park has rough roads, rocks, and small rivers. If a car gets stuck, help can take hours. Robin handled minor issues himself. The ride was always smooth and stable. He has eagle eyes. After 15 years, finding animals is instinct. Several times he stopped and pointed before I could even see anything through binoculars – a leopard in a tree, lions hidden in grass. He tells stories. Not just animal names, but their behavior, the dynamics of a lion pride, and interesting moments he has experienced over the years. Interesting and easy to remember. He keeps the car very clean. He washed the car and organized everything inside every single day. Every morning, the vehicle was spotless. That small detail made a real difference in comfort. He respects our pace. Every day we discussed the schedule together – whether we wanted to leave early, return to camp for a midday break, or stay out late. He never pushed his own plan on us. He never stops trying. As long as we were on safari, he was actively looking for animals. No parking and making up excuses, no laziness. You could feel his effort from the back seat. One more thing many travelers overlook: a great driver has a mental map of the park and a network of other drivers sharing real-time animal sightings over the radio. “Leopard in a tree at this coordinate.” “Don’t go there – too crowded.” You don’t hear any of it, but he does – and he decides where to go next. That is why, on the same stretch of savannah, a great driver can show you three times as much as an average one.

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
5 Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.
How much does 5 Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $2950 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 5 Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari Tour take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.
Is 5 Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 5 Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 5 Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 5 Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 5 Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Arusha?
+
On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Arusha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Arusha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
