Flawless experience!
Duma Explorer/Alika Africa is the best! We couldn’t have had a better experience. From arrival to departure, everything was taken care of and was so organized. Stacy was very communicative and answered all our questions. She designed a custom trip for us in the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Zanzibar. We loved each park, meal and camp. But the best part of our trip was our guide, Daniel. He was patient and taught us so much about the environment and the animals. We recommend everyone use Duma and request Daniel!

Absolutely amazing!!
We could not have asked for a better experience! Our trip was planned perfectly and our guide was even better. We had Justin for a guide and I would highly recommend requesting him. I am a photographer and he was so patient and always made sure we were in the perfect spot to get the best shot. He was knowledgeable about all the animals, the land, and history. His 9 years of experience and great personality made the trip one we will never forget! Highly recommend using this company and asking for Justin. You cannot go wrong!

Justin Mushi is an amazing guide
My family (me, wife, and 2 kids, ages 6 and 9) went on a private tour with an amazing guide, Justin Mushi. We booked with Stacey Readal. The experience was seamless and Stacey did a great job of working with us to figure out the best trip that met our goals. For us, it was five days in the Serengeti and one day in the Ngorongoro caldera. Justin was an amazing guide. He was an excellent spotter. It seemed to us that other guides were often seeking him out to find animals. One of my kids wanted to see cheetahs, and so we spent one afternoon looking for them. No luck. The next morning, we went far afield, driving for hours, when Justin spotted two cheetah cubs sitting on a rock. Their mother arrived shortly thereafter, and my kids were thrilled to see them. We saw every animal we wanted to see, and Justin was terrific at being patient with our kids and listening to all of their questions and comments. Justin also knows animal behavior. Other trucks would leave and Justin would say, "let's wait, the leopard is about to get up and move, so then we can get a good photo," and that is exactly what would happen. The food at the lodges was good and they accommodated us being vegetarian (though there was initially a lot of confusion that we didn't eat fish as vegetarians). Our lodging was great and this was the trip of a lifetime. We strongly recommend Alika Africa/Duma Explorer and Justin!

Tanzania Safari to remember for all the right reasons.
Fantastic experience from beginning to end. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and this was a trip to always remember. Justin our guide was the best, personable, helpful and absolutely brilliant at leading us through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngoragora Crater, we saw the Big 5 and soooo much more. Our list of sightings grew every day, just when you think you’ve seen it all Justin shows you something new. He was incredibly knowledgeable on all the animals, birds and trees. He was patient and flexible, always smiling and making us feel we were in the best hands. It can be a bumpy ride when on safari and he was one of the best and safest drivers we have ever come across, we love the Landcruiser! Highly recommend Duma and their partner Alika Africa, we did a lot of research before booking and these guys are the best. Stacy was great at answering all our queries and planning a wonderful trip of a lifetime for us. Very happy customers!

Amazing company, amazing safari experience
Truly amazing! This was a bucket list trip for me and my family and I did a LOT of research into different safari companies to make sure we had a good experience. So happy we chose Duma Explorer/Alika Africa - we had an unforgettable trip from Arusha > Tarangire > Ngorongoro > Serengeti. Justin was the best guide - so personable, knowledgeable, and ensured we saw so many animals - from big to small, including the big 5! He is truly an expert at what he does - we got the chance to be up close and personal with so many beautiful animals, many times as the only group around. All details of pick ups, drop offs, lodging, meals, etc. was perfectly planned so our group of 7 had no issues throughout our journey. Thank you Stacy, Justin, and the Duma team for this fantastic trip!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.
How much does 5-Day Private Safari Tour in Northern Tanzania cost?

Prices start at $3,000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 5-Day Private Safari Tour in Northern Tanzania take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.
Is 5-Day Private Safari Tour in Northern Tanzania worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 65 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 5-Day Private Safari Tour in Northern Tanzania?
+

Is 5-Day Private Safari Tour in Northern Tanzania suitable for kids and families?
+

How far in advance should I book 5-Day Private Safari Tour in Northern Tanzania?
+
Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 5-Day Private Safari Tour in Northern Tanzania start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Arusha?
+

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Arusha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Arusha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
