Magnificent parks, but a service that needs improvement

The parks visited are magnificent and the landscapes are exceptional. Communication with our contact person, however, was very good: available, attentive, and always ready to answer our questions. On the other hand, several points need to be improved. The guide was our main disappointment: we felt more like we had a driver than a guide. No explanations about the animals and the parks, and we constantly had to ask what the schedule was or what was next for the day. We also had the feeling that the goal was mainly to arrive at the campsite quickly. Some elements announced in the program were also not carried out. A stop at Mto wa Mbu, presented as a cultural discovery and an opportunity to taste local products, was planned, but we ultimately did not see any of it. Instead, we were offered a visit to a Maasai village, but this visit cost extra, even though it was an additional activity and not the one announced in our program. Regarding the travel document, it would be useful to clarify certain practical elements, notably to plan for warm clothing for Ngorongoro and to indicate if binoculars are provided. We thought we would at least have one for the group. For camping, we knew what to expect by choosing the tent, so no problem on that side. On the other hand, unlike other groups, we did not even have a pillow: only a sleeping bag. It would be good to specify this so that travelers can plan accordingly. Finally, the food was very good, but no snacks were provided, unlike other agencies, and we were often the last to eat, which gave an impression of a lack of organization. In summary, a beautiful experience, but one that could have been significantly better with a more involved guide, smoother organization, and more practical information beforehand.
