DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
My family of four went on a full day tour to Yellowstone National Park on August 20, 2025 and while the tour itself and the tour guide were both good, Backcountry Safaris place our family with another family of four that had one little girl that was only 5 years old and one little girl that was 9. First, Backcountry Safari's policy is that all customers must be over the age of 6 years old. Neither of the two girls kept quite for over 10 hours. They continuously interrupted the tour guide, regardless of how much shushing their parents did. At the end of the trip, the tour guide had to play "20 Questions" with the two girls just to keep them occupied while their parents slept. This was a very disappointing experience for my family. While it may be impossible for Backcountry to have known for sure what age the youngest girl was, they were completely unwilling to provide my family with a reasonable (small) refund when this was requested. And I spoke personally with the General Manager and explained this to him first hand. As this is a customer service industry, Backcountry failed miserably. I would recommend Eco-Line which provided us with excellent tours the rest of our week's vacation. Last, my wife is a vegetarian and they forgot to pack a requested vegetian lunch for her. Although they refunded her $24, she was hungry all day.

A perfect Day in Yellowstone from the Montage Big Sky
We had an amazing tour of the South Loop of Yellowstone. Our guide was Natalie. She was so informative, kind and fun. She was a major part of the reason we had such a wonderful day. There was so much to see but she made it seem easy. We hit the major highlights (and bathrooms) at the perfect times. She timed Old Faithful almost perfectly and we never experienced too much of a crowd anywhere. The Lower Falls were busy, but can you blame Nature, I think NOT! Natalie was prompt (they pick up at your hotel), the van was clean and stocked with snacks. They provided binoculars and Natalie had a scope for the animals in the distance. Afterwards, she air dropped the photos to us. We would certainly use this tour company again. My husband actually thanked me for booking such a GREAT tour.

Day trip to Yellowstone from Big Sky
Our family of 4 did a private, one day tour to Yellowstone National park. Tiffany picked us up at Big Sky Resort in a plush, clean van with comfortable seating, large windows all around. Snacks, waters, binoculars all at the ready. The drive was about an hour to the park. Made a stop at the deli close to park to pick up our preordered sandwiches. We did the lower loop. Tiffany was very knowledgeable about the park. She took us to all the best highlights of the park we wanted to see: old Faithful (she knew best side to enter, best photo ops, etc.), hydrothermal features at Yellowstone lake (she had stories to tell, information about the features- again, very knowledgeable.), the perfect shaded lunch spot on the water (a couple of bison were chilling across the water), drove thru Hayden Valley, had a gorgeous view of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and saw another beautiful waterfall. She stopped at the YNP sign on way back to Big Sky for a family photo. Highly recommend this tour if you only have a day. Worth every penny. Tiffany was great! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful to see this beautiful national park.
The Yellowstone tour through Backcountry safari was very good. A comprehensive and beautiful tour of the park. Dave, our tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. We did think that the price was excessive. I'd be curious to see a breakout of costs/services for the tour itself.
