    About this experience

A perfect opportunity to explore authentic local life outside of the city center. Your full-day tour is completely private, only for you and your party, including a private guide and private transportation. Since your tour is catered specifically to you and your interests, you are free to customize any part of the tour. This tour is a full day of history, seeing caves that were used in pre-historic caves (only the opening), and you get a boat ride through nature's cathedral and Europe's longest subterranean river. We will eat lunch somewhere typical (lunch price not included and we cater to all lunch budgets) and you will see fabulous Roman remains of Sagunto, where the 2nd Punic War started, and the biggest Roman fort still left on the Iberian peninsula. Uniquely, we also have a great deal of tangible Jewish history here and you will see a Jewish Rabbi cementary, Mikveh and 14th century jewish quarter among other hidden treasures in this off-the-beaten-path area.

    Great One-Day Excursion from Valencia

Excellent tour with knowledgeable guide. Communication prior to booking was very good. Guide was sensitive to our needs for a bit slower pace. Both Sagunto and the Caves were worth the visit.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely words and 5-star review! It's great to hear you had an excellent experience with us. We hope to have you back in Valencia soon!

Great Day Trip – Montanejos & Cueva de San José

We had an awesome day out of Valencia! First stop was the hot springs in Montanejos – such a beautiful spot surrounded by nature. The water was a bit cold, but still totally worth it. Super refreshing and relaxing! Then we headed to the Cueva de San José, and wow – the underground river tour was such a cool experience. Floating through the cave by boat was peaceful and really unique. The rock formations are amazing and it’s something you don’t get to see every day. Big shoutout to our guide Nicole – she spoke perfect German, knew so much about the area, and really took great care of us. The drive was smooth, everything was well-organized, and she made sure we enjoyed every part of the tour. Highly recommend Nicole as a guide and this trip if you're visiting Valencia and want to explore a bit of nature and something different!

Response from the operator: We were lucky we could rearrange some tours to accomodate your request the day before! We are so glad to hear that you had such a unique and memorable experience with us in the area surrounding Valencia. Thanks for the kind words for us and Nicole! Wishing you a safe journey back!

Valencian Caves with Boat Ride and Sagunto Private Day Trip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Valencia.

How much does Valencian Caves with Boat Ride and Sagunto Private Day Trip cost?

    +

Prices start at $187 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Valencia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Valencian Caves with Boat Ride and Sagunto Private Day Trip take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Valencia is not rushed.

Is Valencian Caves with Boat Ride and Sagunto Private Day Trip worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Valencia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Valencian Caves with Boat Ride and Sagunto Private Day Trip?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Valencian Caves with Boat Ride and Sagunto Private Day Trip suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Valencian Caves with Boat Ride and Sagunto Private Day Trip?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Valencia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valencia and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Valencian Caves with Boat Ride and Sagunto Private Day Trip start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Valencia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Valencia?

    +

On Outty we rank every Valencia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Valencia Bike Tour from the City to the Beach, plus Bike Guy App!, Paella Cooking Class, Wine Tasting & Central Market in Valencia, Real Paella Cooking Class – Market Visit & Sangría Workshop. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Valencia?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Valencia?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
