What you get

    About this experience

Paella was born here in Valencia—and this hands-on evening class teaches you the real recipe, not the tourist version. Learn to make traditional Valencian paella with meat and vegetables, the way local families have cooked it for generations. No seafood. No shortcuts. Just authentic technique from Valencian chefs who grew up making it. Join our small-group workshop after the city cools down and master the secrets: achieving the perfect socarrat (the prized crispy rice crust), using Albufera rice from Valencia's own fields, and balancing saffron like a pro. While your paella simmers, enjoy a sangria-making workshop and sample traditional tapas. Then sit down to feast on your creation with local wine, salad, mistela, and homemade dessert. The perfect way to end your day in Valencia.

    Fantastic!

Our hosts for the evening event were fantastic. They engaged us in the paella making process as well as the cultural aspects of this traditional Spanish meal. The evening included delicious tapas, ample sangria, and a chance to meet other folks from around the world. I would do this again in a heartbeat! It was a great experience in so many ways!

Best Class, Best People, The most fun

This cooking class was AMAZING. It was my husband, myself, and our two young daughters. Everyone participate and everyone had fun. The instructors were great and knowledgeable ( and funny) and they made you feel like part of the family. There was PLENTY of food and plenty of cooking to be done. No place better to take a cooking class than the home of Paella.I didnt eat paella the rest of our trip because I knew nothing was gonig to be better than the one we made here.

Best part of my València trip!!

Absolutely loved my experience with My First Paella!!! The staff was wonderful, kind, entertaining, and very thorough with the entire experience!!! They created such a fun and welcoming experience for all guests, and taught us how to make a true traditional València paella. The group of individuals I was with was incredibly welcoming and so fun to talk to during the 3 hours!!! We had a wonderful experience and it was truly the highlight of my time in València. Please book with them, you won’t regret it!!!

    Great Food and Better Conversation

The chefs were informative and answered all questions. It was a great mix of people from several countries who shared their experiences while visiting Spain and culinary expertise. The food from start to finish was fresh, tasty, and enjoyable. The sangria was flowing and each participant was able to be hands on in the small groups. Sharing an experience and meal with strangers is something I highly reccomend no matter what city you visit!

Paella cooking class: Sangria workshop, Tapas & Wine – evening: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Valencia.

How much does Paella cooking class: Sangria workshop, Tapas & Wine – evening cost?

    +

Prices start at $77 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Valencia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Paella cooking class: Sangria workshop, Tapas & Wine – evening take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Valencia is not rushed.

Is Paella cooking class: Sangria workshop, Tapas & Wine – evening worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 90 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 423 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Valencia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Paella cooking class: Sangria workshop, Tapas & Wine – evening?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Paella cooking class: Sangria workshop, Tapas & Wine – evening suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Paella cooking class: Sangria workshop, Tapas & Wine – evening?

    +

Around 148 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Valencia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valencia and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Paella cooking class: Sangria workshop, Tapas & Wine – evening start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Valencia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Valencia?

    +

On Outty we rank every Valencia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Valencia Bike Tour from the City to the Beach, plus Bike Guy App!, Paella Cooking Class, Wine Tasting & Central Market in Valencia, Real Paella Cooking Class – Market Visit & Sangría Workshop. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Valencia?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Valencia?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
