What you get

    About this experience

Valencia is the birthplace of the world-famous paella - from the market to your plate, learn step-by-step how to make this traditional dish! First, your local guide will take you to visit Mercado Central de Valencia - Europe's largest food market. Here, you'll buy your fresh ingredients. For evening tours and tours on Sunday, the Central Market is closed so we will skip this step and go straight to the cooking! You’ll then go to the paella kitchen for a live paella workshop with a professional chef. Follow along step-by-step at your own cooking station and learn the local tips and tricks of what makes this dish so special. After the class, sit back and enjoy some local tapas, wine and, of course, your very own paella. Your paella cooking class Valencia finishes with a sweet treat before returning to the meeting point accompanied by the guide.

    A Delicious Valencia Destination

Valencia is the birthplace of paella, so when our cruise ship docked there back in June, my husband and I signed up for this paella class. Our instructor was Chef Victor Piles and his lovely assistant, Dientje, an exchange student from Netherlands. After a short visit to the local market, we walked to the cooking school located nearby. Each couple had their own cooking station with all the necessary ingredients in place. Victor went around helping and answering any questions people may have. Dientje went around serving appetizers and wines while we cooked. I didn’t drink, so she gave me non-alcoholic drink, which was absolutely delicious! When all the paella was done, they were delivered to another room, served with more drinks and dessert. We didn’t think we could finish the entire paella, but we did! We had so much fun and we learn a lot. Highly recommend taking this class if you are in Valencia! Note: The meeting place was in front of a hotel and it was an easy walking distance from the place where our shuttle bus dropped us off. The market and the cooking class are located nearby.

Lots of fun; Daniel is the best!

Had an amazing time with Daniel and Olivia! I learned more about paella than a human should know 🤪 Daniel was funny, charming, and a great teacher. Olivia was also great and very versed in Spanish wines. This was the highlight of my trip to Valéncia; if you’re coming here then be sure to sign up for this class!

    Fantastic

We absolutely loved the paella cooking workshop! The guys were incredibly friendly, skilled, and made the whole experience so much fun. They really know how to share the Spanish way of life and the true Valencian spirit. We enjoyed every minute of the experience — it was not just about cooking paella, but about getting a real taste of the local culture and atmosphere. If you’re visiting Valencia, definitely give it a try! It’s a fantastic way to experience the city’s vibe and Spanish lifestyle. Highly recommended!

    A must paella making session

From start to finish this was the best cooking experience. Victor was a great chef who guided us through the cooking with great energy while Pau continually topped us up with tapas and wine. The perfect combo!

How long does Paella Cooking Class, Wine Tasting & Central Market in Valencia take?

That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1,872 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Valencia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. What should I bring or wear?

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valencia and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

On Outty we rank every Valencia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Valencia Bike Tour from the City to the Beach, plus Bike Guy App!, Real Paella Cooking Class – Market Visit & Sangría Workshop, Adventures day: Thermal Springs, Waterfalls, private guesthouse. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Valencia?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Valencia?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
