This charming place is just 15km away from Moshi Town and is the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park. First you will visit the waterfalls, which are around a 40-minute walk away. On the way, trail can be slippery & muddy best to have good hiking boots. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. A magical day

My experience with Safari G.O.A.T.S and my guide, Collins, was nothing short of spectacular. Going in, I had no clue what to expect, but my day turned out to be greater than I could have ever imagined. Collins was an amazing guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, kind, interesting and just an all around wonderful human. Traveling as a solo female, it can sometimes be tricky, but I always felt safe and well taken care of. I learned so much about Tanzania and the Materuni culture and land. Each stop brought something so special and memorable. I felt very welcomed and immersed in the culture. If you are considering this excursion, I 1000% recommend booking with Safari G.O.A.T.S. I taking back memories and stories that will last a lifetime.

Coffee, waterfalls and hotsprings!

The first day nearby Materuni we’ve made our own coffee and learned about the originin of arabica coffee together with the local tribe. After our lunch we got a chance to buy some coffee and cultural art work from this local tribe. I can tell you, these are real business people. Rarely there are fix prices, so you have to bargain to make a good deal. After that, the guide took us for a walk through Materuni (last village before Kilimanjaro, we’ll be climbing this big friend later on our trip) to finally reach the amazing waterfall. We also did Napuru waterfall, kanoed on Chala lake and visited kikuletwa (chemka) hot spring. Maaan this hot spring is amazing. The water is cristal clear. Could spend my whole trip here. You can swing from a rope, do a couple of backflips and I even saw a giant turtle!
