Whale Watching Tour
We had an amazing tour with Louisa and Javier. Louisa was a wealth of information and she spotted and we followed a momma and baby whale for a good 30 mins. We got so close that the baby swam under our boat. We also saw a school of dolphins. I would give our tour a 10 out of 10. Roland was our contact and he provided great communication throughout the booking process.
Response from the operator: Hi Kristen, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re really happy to hear you had such an amazing experience with Luisa and Javier. Spending that much time with a mom and baby — and even having the calf swim underneath the boat — is truly something special. And dolphins on top of that makes it even better! We’re also glad the communication and booking process felt smooth and easy. We always try to make everything as relaxed and well organized as possible from start to finish. Thank you again for joining us, and we’d love to have you back out on the water anytime! Warm regards, Roland & the Salty Cabo Team

Exceeded our high expectations
I have spent a lot of time on the ocean, which was part of my job. But one experience, seeing whales in their habitat, somehow escaped me. We booked Salty Cabo based on reviews here. Our trip exceeded expectations. Almost immediately after launching, we saw our first whale, and then they kept popping up, in ones, twos, and at least one pod of seven whales. The viewings seemed nonstop. Some leaped, backs arched (hence the name humpback), close to our boat. We were especially lucky to see a mother and her calf. Our guide and driver were excellent, informative, attentive, friendly. You cannot predict if whales will show up for the show, but if they do, this is the crew you want to be with. So glad we booked with Salty Cabo.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and wonderful review. It truly means a lot, especially coming from someone who has spent so much time on the ocean. We’re thrilled to hear the experience exceeded your expectations. Seeing whales so quickly after launching and then witnessing so much activity — including a pod of seven and a mother with her calf — is something special. Moments like that are why we love being out there every day. Our team will be happy to hear you appreciated the guiding and the relaxed atmosphere on board. You’re absolutely right — wildlife always decides the show, but when it happens, we’re grateful to share it with our guests. Thank you again for choosing Salty Cabo. We hope to welcome you back on the water someday! Warm regards, Roland & the Salty Cabo Team

This whale watching tour was awesome! Luisa was very knowledgeable and she genuinely seemed to care for the whales' well-being. Her excitement was contagious! The small group was a bonus. It was also nice to get pictures without having to pay extra for them. We would definitely do it again!

Luisa will be thrilled to know her passion, knowledge, and genuine care for the whales came through — that excitement truly makes a difference on the water. And of course, we love sharing the photos afterward so you can take those memories home without any extra hassle. Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Jose del Cabo.
How much does San Jose del Cabo Small-Group Sunrise Whale Watching cost?
+
Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Jose del Cabo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does San Jose del Cabo Small-Group Sunrise Whale Watching take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Jose del Cabo is not rushed.
Is San Jose del Cabo Small-Group Sunrise Whale Watching worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 52 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Jose del Cabo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule San Jose del Cabo Small-Group Sunrise Whale Watching?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is San Jose del Cabo Small-Group Sunrise Whale Watching suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book San Jose del Cabo Small-Group Sunrise Whale Watching?
+
Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Jose del Cabo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Jose del Cabo and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in San Jose del Cabo?
+
On Outty we rank every San Jose del Cabo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cabo Electric Bike Beach Adventure with Margaritas and Lunch, Cabo 4x4 ATV Tour with Tequila Tasting and Mexican Buffet Lunch, La Paz Whale Shark Snorkeling Tour and Lunch From Los Cabos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Jose del Cabo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Jose del Cabo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
