What you get

    About this experience

Your half-day tour of 4-5 hours (depending on walking times for you, etc.) is completely private, only for you and your party, including a private guide and private transport from wherever you want to begin which allows you to get near to the top of Sagunto, with as minimal upward walking as possible. Since your tour is catered specifically to you and your interests, you are free to customize any part of the tour, as long as you let us know ahead of time. This tour is run by the first company to offer private Jewish tours in the Valencia area (since 2010) and you will see original and unique tangible Jewish heritage, nearly impossible to see elsewhere on this side of Spain. A small off-the-beaten path town, rarely crowded, but with hidden treasures of history. You will, if you so choose, see a great deal of Roman history, as the town has many eras of importance.

    Excellent tours in Valencia area

We did 2 tours with Nicole to the Albufera park and a boat trip around the lagoon and then a full day to Sagunt, visiting the castle and then a tour of the Jewish area followed by a trip to San Jose caves and boat trip. Nicole was an excellent guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the history. We had two excellent very enjoyable days.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review! I'm so glad you had two enjoyable days exploring the Valencia region with Nicole. I will make sure to pass on your kind words to her! Hope to see you back here soon, All my best x

    Okay.

It is a place full of history and with phenomenal views. The guide was very great, but it seemed that I didn't know the site well and couldn't answer many questions about the site and its history.... You need to bring your own water, a shadow cap, and something to eat that none of this is included. I'm really not sure you need to pay as much for what's on offer here.

Response from the operator: Dear Nina, our greatest apologies for such a late reply, but for some reason it was blocked for us to reply until now. This is very disspointing for us to hear, as we aim for a 5* experience every time. Unfortunately, this is not the first complaint we have had with this guide and although he is an expert in Valencia, we definitely do a retraining with any of our Sagunto guides, as it is fabulously-laden in wonderful Roman and Jewish history with many gems, as the Sephardic Jews had a thriving community here in the 14th-mid-15th centuries, but unfortunately it must be studied and doesn't come as common knowledge here. We certainly believe that alhtough small, it has such a plethora of hidden gems, that it is more than worth it. Please contact me directly if you come back to Valencia and we will happily offer you a 50% discount or be glad just to meet you and treat you to a cocktail or the like or bring you back to Sagunto, totally on our dime. Thank you very much for your business and we do hope to have the opportunity again to duly wow you. Kindest of regards, Kate

Great tour of Sagunto & the remains of Jewish life

Sagunto is an amazingly interesting place. We were guided by Sergio who did an excellent job. He is knowledgeable, warm & welcoming and the hours just flew by. Sergio explained the history of the region and the castle. There is a small archeological museum contains some fascinating artifacts. The Jewish quarter, as one might expect, does not have much left in terms of Jewish life or artifacts since the expulsion of the Jewish people in 1492. There are the remains of a mikveh that can be seen. Further up the bill, there are the remains of the Jewish burial areas. All in all we thought it was very worthwhile & it would have had much less meaning without a guide.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for this wonderful review. I am glad that you enjoyed your experience so much. Kind regards, Kate

    Great tour.

Great private tour. Highlighted Jewish, Roman, and Moorish history of the Sagunto/Valencia region. Sarah is a knowledgeable tour guide and historian. The discussion of the Jewish link to the silk trade and Columbus was particularly interesting.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review and I'm so glad that you had such a nice visit. Kind regards, Kate

Private Half-Day Jewish Heritage Tour and Roman History: Sagunto: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Valencia.

How much does Private Half-Day Jewish Heritage Tour and Roman History: Sagunto cost?

    +

Prices start at $415 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Valencia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Half-Day Jewish Heritage Tour and Roman History: Sagunto take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Valencia is not rushed.

Is Private Half-Day Jewish Heritage Tour and Roman History: Sagunto worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Valencia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Half-Day Jewish Heritage Tour and Roman History: Sagunto?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Half-Day Jewish Heritage Tour and Roman History: Sagunto suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Half-Day Jewish Heritage Tour and Roman History: Sagunto?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Valencia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valencia and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Half-Day Jewish Heritage Tour and Roman History: Sagunto start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Valencia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Valencia?

    +

On Outty we rank every Valencia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Valencia Bike Tour from the City to the Beach, plus Bike Guy App!, Paella Cooking Class, Wine Tasting & Central Market in Valencia, Real Paella Cooking Class – Market Visit & Sangría Workshop. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Valencia?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Valencia?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
