Horrible do not book This was a waste of hard earned money.

The first mate Nelson looks like a astronaut comparded to the other two on this boat. They never mentioned get on a small boat after you wade thru seaweed. The boat and tackle had to be 50 years old. This was the first time in my life I never saw a fish landed on the boat.

    Amazing private fishing trip

Highly recommend! Louis was truly the BEST. Amazing snacks, drinks and the very best salad, fresh fish we ate and caught straight from the ocean. Would do again 100%. The captain knew exactly where to go and was an amazing 8 hour experience.

“White Marlin, Barracuda & Whales—An Incredible Day at Sea!”

We had an absolutely amazing experience on our deep sea fishing charter in the Dominican Republic ! Traveling with our two sons, we were hoping for a fun and memorable family outing—and this trip exceeded all expectations. The crew, Luis and Raquel, along with Captain Primo, were incredibly attentive, friendly, and accommodating from start to finish. Luis was especially impressive—his knowledge of different fish species was outstanding, and he was fantastic with our kids, making sure they were engaged and excited the entire time. One of the highlights of our trip was spotting a whale, which the crew made sure we didn’t miss—an unforgettable moment for all of us! On top of that, we had great success fishing, catching barracudas and even a white marlin. Everything about this trip was top-notch, from the professionalism of the crew to the overall experience on the water. We truly had a great time and created memories that will last a lifetime. We would absolutely recommend this charter to anyone visiting the Dominican Republic, and we can’t wait to do it again on our next trip!

Boat is not ocean worthy, very beat up and broken and the fumes from the motor that were not working on all cylinders will gas y

We had booked this fishing trip for my family as we have avid fisherman that wanted to do some deep sea fishing. We were taken to the boat that was to take us fishing and it was very beat up, we all gave each other the wide eyes from the condition of the boat., it was nothing like the picture in the booking. The chair that you reel your catch in from was broken and fell over as my son-in-law went to sit in it as we needed to sit, the motor was not running on all cylinders and the fumes from it were so bad we were being gassed all the crew sat up top with the captain. I asked the captain to turn the boat around as this was horrible and most of us were very unwell after we got off. The waves were over 8ft and this boat was not ocean worthy and not worth the money we paid!! The captain should never have taken us out knowing what it would be like.

Private Fishing Charter Punta Cana (Orion): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Private Fishing Charter Punta Cana (Orion) cost?

    +

Prices start at $520 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Fishing Charter Punta Cana (Orion) take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Private Fishing Charter Punta Cana (Orion) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 44 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Fishing Charter Punta Cana (Orion)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Fishing Charter Punta Cana (Orion) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Fishing Charter Punta Cana (Orion)?

    +

Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Fishing Charter Punta Cana (Orion) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
