Fantastic Chicken Itza tour!
Great trip! Salvador made this trip perfect. His timing getting us to Chichen Itza was excellent... just before the crowds. He is extremely knowledgeable on all matters Mayan, as well as the flora and fauna of the area. He is patient, fun, and very accommodating. Great cenote experience, never would have expected it. And he took us to all the right places in Valladolid. Beautiful! And he arranged a fantastic Mayan lunch. Highly recommended!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic review! I'm truly delighted to hear that your trip was perfect and that you enjoyed every moment of the experience. Timing is everything at Chichén Itzá, and I'm glad we beat the crowds so you could fully appreciate the magic of the site. Sharing my knowledge of Mayan history, as well as the local flora and fauna, is something I'm truly passionate about, so it means a lot to know you found it valuable. The cenote is always a surprise for first-time visitors — a hidden gem that never fails to amaze. And I'm so glad you enjoyed Valladolid and the Mayan lunch as well. Thank you for your kind words and for highly recommending the tour. It was an absolute pleasure guiding you, and I hope to welcome you back to Mexico someday! Day trip to Chichen Itza from Tulum
Salvador was a wonderful guide. His knowledge of Chichen Itza was excellent. We had great fun at the Cenote he took us too. Finally a trip to Valodollid for lunch was lovely despite the heavy rain shower we got caught up in. Thankfully Salvador came to our rescue finding us with umbrellas whilst we were sheltering from the rain. The trip is a long day, but thoroughly worth the cost and early start.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm truly glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that my knowledge of Chichen Itza helped make the experience special. The cenote is always a highlight, and I'm happy you had great fun there. Despite the unexpected heavy rain in Valladolid, I'm glad we could keep everyone dry with the umbrellas — sometimes a little adventure makes the best memories! It was a long day, but absolutely worth it. Thank you for your trust and for recommending the experience. I would love to welcome you again on your next visit to Mexico. Warm regards, Salvador Ocampo Best Maya Tours

A fun and interesting way to learn about the Mayans
My husband and I truly enjoyed this trip! William was easy to communicate with prior to the trip, very knowledgeable, and fun to talk throughout the drive. It was with the extra money to have a private tour. He easily guided us through each stop so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We also had just the right amount of time at each location. Would definitely recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We’re delighted that William’s communication, expertise, and friendly conversation helped make your private tour so memorable. Making sure guests feel relaxed, well-guided, and able to enjoy each location at just the right pace is exactly what we strive for. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back someday!

Fantastic Chichen Itza and Cenote experience!
A fantastic day with William taking us to Chichen Itza and sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm. Picked up promptly at our hotel at 7.30am we were always one step ahead of the crowds, but never felt rushed. Chichen Itza is extraordinary and worth the long day. The Cenote was amazing! If you're considering a private tour would highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you for this glowing review! We’re so happy William provided an informative, enthusiastic, and perfectly timed tour of Chichen Itza and the cenote. We appreciate your kind words and your strong recommendation—it was a pleasure to host you!

Why this scores 77
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Full-Day Guided Chichen Itza Tour with Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Private Full-Day Guided Chichen Itza Tour with Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $119 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Full-Day Guided Chichen Itza Tour with Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Private Full-Day Guided Chichen Itza Tour with Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 38 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Full-Day Guided Chichen Itza Tour with Lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Full-Day Guided Chichen Itza Tour with Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Full-Day Guided Chichen Itza Tour with Lunch?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Full-Day Guided Chichen Itza Tour with Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
