Chichen Itza really is a WONDER of the world
Chichén Itzá was incredible and a must-see if you're visiting Cancun! The tour had amazing highlights, but a few things could be improved. **Transportation:** I would NOT recommend the hotel pickup/drop-off option. We spent nearly an hour picking up guests from different hotels at both ends, making an already long day even longer. The bus was comfortable, air-conditioned, and had a bathroom. We were told the bus would leave 10 minutes after the scheduled time, but ended up waiting another 30–40 minutes for a late couple. Frustrating for those of us who were on time! **Guide & Chichén Itzá:** Our guide was knowledgeable, although his English was sometimes difficult to understand. He talked for most of the bus ride, when some time to nap after the early start would have been appreciated. Chichén Itzá itself was a gem! We split into English- and Spanish-speaking groups, learned so much, and still had free time to explore and take photos independently. **Mayan Community:** A highlight was visiting a local Mayan foundation supporting community schools. I loved purchasing souvenirs there instead of from site vendors. Be careful: vendors shouting "$1" or "basically free" are using those phrases to get your attention, not necessarily offering that price! Always confirm costs before buying. We were encouraged to buy insect repellent but never needed it. **Cenote & Lunch:** The cenote was our FAVORITE part! The cool water was such a relief in the heat. The buffet was good, with familiar favorites and local dishes. Bring snacks! The time difference between Cancun and this area meant our 2 PM lunch felt like 3 PM, and it's a long day. Pack a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of cold water. **Final Stop:** The tequila tasting and town square were cute, photogenic stops on the way home. Overall, the destinations were absolutely worth it, especially the cenote and community visit. Just prepare for a LONG day, confirm prices, and consider arranging your own transportation!

Good Experience, Predatory Company
This whole trip was a marketing scheme between satmexico tour guides and the fake “artisan” markets. All the stops were at markets designed to lure tourists into spending money on “my family this my family that, my culture”. All 100% verifiable BS. Just ask google, who has nothing to gain. Never trust anyone who makes money off of you. Honestly just cancel this tour and book off of costco or world2meet for better pricing, better customer service and better peace mind. Nothing to lose if you do that

Fun activities, uncomfortable transportation
The excursions were informative and interesting but the bus was extremely uncomfortable and the seatbelts did not work. Additionally, after a 12 hour excursion, there were no nearby restrooms available for non guests at the drop off location.

Avoid SAT Mexico for this Tour
Been on multiple tours to Chichen Itza with different carriers and this was by far the worst experience. They cut into your time at archeological sites by making unnecessary stops to try to upsale you with nick-knacks. The guide stood in one spot away from the sites to avoid the sun and failed to provide substantive information. Lots of claims of "my culture" and "we care" but the only thing that was evident was greed and substandard service.
