A little out of sync
Regardless of which vendor you go with for this tour it’s a long ride more than 2 hours to the coast. The terrain is not real scenic but we did see many llamas. We spent too much time over 2 hours on the coast initially where we seen very few sea lions, one dead penguin and no orcas. There was an issue with some of the passengers who had different itinerary s. We did not go to Punta Norte ( which a placard where we were said the best airings for Orcas were there) which was on there’s but not our. The driver was great along with the Diego the guide who was very informative, congenial and answered many questions but could use a little improvement on his English skills . We also had a flat tire on way back to ship which Diego and driver had the skill set to change. Fortunately for us since this was not a ship tour. The seats in the van were a little tight in the mini bus( Mercedes Benz 2 on one side of aisle and one on the other. If we came back we would not take this tour again with anyone but would recommend someone else if you are interested in seeing this area.
Response from the operator: Hello Jeff: Good afternoon, we are very sorry for your experience on the excursion. We will take note of all your comments to improve our service and better inform our customers about the type of excursions we offer. Thank you for visiting us. Marcelo & Dos Oceanos Team

Never Again
I'd give the tour Five Stars for the quality of the guide and meet-up experience. However, we endured five hours on mostly bumpy dirt roads to see two penguins and some sea lions from a distance and for a short time. Even if there had been more wildlife I don't think the hours on the bus is worth what you see. Back on our ship we heard of other experiences people had that were shorter and included more up close wildlife. Look at boat excursions directly from the port.
Response from the operator: Hello Richard, we are sorry that it did not meet your expectations. Even so, the tour is based on visiting and appreciating a protected nature reserve recognized by UNESCO for the preservation of wildlife in its natural state. The animals are viewed from a distance to ensure that their habitat and behavior are not affected, allowing us to be spectators and respect their ecosystem. This is a tour we do every day, and each experience is unique. We hope you can come back soon and see it with new eyes. We were delighted to have you, and we hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. Best regards, Dos Oceanos Team

Península Valdes
Overall not bad There were few penguins , it might be good to state that in late February there are fewer Did not get very close to elephant seals , needed binoculars. We were within 10 minutes of our ship last board time , fortunately many ship tours were late also
Response from the operator: Hello Valentina & Gary! Thank you very much for your comment! There are few penguins at the Valdés Peninsula penguin colony, as it is a small colony. Our excursions are designed to take cruise ship schedules into account and always arrive on time. We hope you enjoyed your experience and we look forward to seeing you again soon so you can continue exploring our Patagonia! Continue enjoying your trip. Best regards, Bianca

Península Valdés Tour for Cruise Passengers: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Madryn.
How much does Península Valdés Tour for Cruise Passengers cost?
+
Prices start at $170 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Madryn usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Península Valdés Tour for Cruise Passengers take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Madryn is not rushed.
Is Península Valdés Tour for Cruise Passengers worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Madryn, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Península Valdés Tour for Cruise Passengers?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Península Valdés Tour for Cruise Passengers suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Península Valdés Tour for Cruise Passengers?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Madryn can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Madryn and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Península Valdés Tour for Cruise Passengers start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Madryn within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Madryn?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Madryn experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best of Peninsula Valdés in one day, Shore Tours Punta Tombo Cruise Ship Passengers Puerto Madryn, Snorkeling with Sea Lions by Madryn Buceo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Madryn?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Madryn?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
