What you'll see and do
Peninsula Valdes
We’ll be waiting for you at the Port of Puerto Madryn to start our excursion to Península Valdés. Our first stop will be at the Istmo Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center, where you'll learn about the peninsula's flora, fauna, geology, and historical events. From the panoramic viewpoint, you’ll enjoy impressive views of Golfo Nuevo, San José, and Isla de los Pájaros. Depending on the time of year, weather, and tides, we’ll visit points of interest such as Caleta Valdés, Punta Cantor, and Punta Norte. Here, you’ll be able to observe elephant seals, penguins, and sea lions, and you’ll have the option to enjoy lunch. In some seasons, you may even spot orcas in action. If time permits, we’ll also visit a nearby penguin colony or the sea lion reserve in Punta Norte. If conditions don’t allow for a visit to Punta Norte, we’ll head to Punta Delgada, to visit a historic lighthouse and an elephant seal colony. Finally we’ll return to the meeting point at the Port of Puerto Madryn.

Valdez Peninsula
85% of the excursion is spent riding in the shuttle, through desert-like terrain. We were 45-50 minutes late departing because we waited for a group of 4 to show up. The shuttle was packed to the gill, not even allowing for the guide to have a seat. She had to stand by the door the duration of the trip. Neither the AC nor the guide's microphone worked well. We were asked to pay for the national park entrance fee ticket before the van left the port. They wanted 47,000 Argentinian pesos or $35 US dollars cash. I specifically questioned the $35 as it didnt match the conversion rate. Because of that, we paid by credit card. They "conveniently" had the tickets with them on hand. The price on the tickets said 30,000 Argentinian pesos and the Valdez Peninsula website (which we checked later that evening) said $30 US. We were also told that the restaurant we would be visiting only took cash. Another tidbit that would have been nice to know beforehand. The guide was friendly and gave it her all but save yourself some time and money and rent a taxi.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate hearing from our guests, as it helps us review and improve our operations. Regarding the National Park entrance fee, the difference you noticed is due to the most recent official increase implemented by Argentina’s National Parks Administration. The current price shown on the official website reflects this updated rate. We do not obtain any profit from selling these tickets; we simply offer this option on board to save our guests time and avoid long lines at the park entrance, allowing them to make the most of their visit. Unfortunately, on the day of your tour, your ship arrived later than scheduled and the departure time was not adjusted. This affected not only our tour but all operators working that day, and as a result, the time available inside the park had to be shortened. We completely understand how frustrating this can be and regret the impact it had on your experience. We also appreciate your comments regarding the vehicle conditions and logistics. Your feedback has been shared internally so we can continue working on improvements, especially on days with high passenger volume. We’re glad to hear that the guide remained friendly and committed despite the challenges of the day. Once again, thank you for your honest comments and for giving us the opportunity to respond. Warm regards, Yellow Penguin Team 🐧

Great!
Overpriced food. Otherwise, an amazing experience. The food was too expensive though, 300 dkr per adult inside Legoland. Bring your own food! Great that you can have a map in the app and see attractions and how far to walk.

A beautiful experience in Valdes Peninsula 🐋
The tour actually exceeded our expectations. Our guide Sebastian was a genius, he knew a lot about everything: the animals, the history of the place, the geography... and he explained it with passion and a lot of patience. You could tell he enjoys what he does, and that makes all the difference. We were lucky enough to see a lot of animals in their natural environment, in a landscape that leaves you speechless. Sea lions, guanacos, maras, elephant seals... and even whales! All in a quiet environment, without crowds, that makes you connect with nature for real. It was a long day, but one that you enjoy from start to finish. I recommend it without hesitation to those who want to know Patagonia from a more real, wilder side, and with people who really know what it does.

Excellent tour of the...
Excellent tour of the Valdez Peninsular with guide David. Expect some fast driving on gravel roads for some of the journey and lots of wildlife. We saw Lesser Rhea and Elegant Crested Tinamou, Megallanic Penguins, Elephant Seals and Sealions. Exploring by myself at stop-offs gave a host of other birds too.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! 😊 We're thrilled to hear you had an excellent tour of the Valdés Peninsula with David and got to see such an incredible variety of wildlife. 🐧🦭🐦 The gravel roads can be quite the adventure, but they sure lead to some unforgettable sights! 🚐✨ We appreciate you choosing us and hope to welcome you on another journey in the future. 🌍🐾

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Peninsula Valdés - EARLY BOOKING -20 OFF - for Cruise Passengers: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Madryn.
How much does Peninsula Valdés - EARLY BOOKING -20 OFF - for Cruise Passengers cost?
+
Prices start at $127 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Madryn usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Peninsula Valdés - EARLY BOOKING -20 OFF - for Cruise Passengers take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Madryn is not rushed.
Is Peninsula Valdés - EARLY BOOKING -20 OFF - for Cruise Passengers worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Madryn, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Peninsula Valdés - EARLY BOOKING -20 OFF - for Cruise Passengers?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Peninsula Valdés - EARLY BOOKING -20 OFF - for Cruise Passengers suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Peninsula Valdés - EARLY BOOKING -20 OFF - for Cruise Passengers?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Madryn can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Madryn and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Peninsula Valdés - EARLY BOOKING -20 OFF - for Cruise Passengers start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Madryn within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Madryn?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Madryn experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best of Peninsula Valdés in one day, Shore Tours Punta Tombo Cruise Ship Passengers Puerto Madryn, Snorkeling with Sea Lions by Madryn Buceo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Madryn?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Madryn?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
