    Top Teir!

Amazing tour guide. Relentless in trying to get us better views of the bears. We saw a mother and a cub. He is very knowledgeable as a native. A very nice person. He showed us eagles and bears. Took very good photos of us. He listens very well to what we wanted to do and dropped us off where we wanted for our next stop. To address the reviews about his friends house, the bears live right next to his friends house. There are paw prints and trails they have to their dens on the other side of the house.

    Lots of wildlife

Rich was great!! He looks us to quite a few spots. We saw bears and one caught a fish. We also saw eagles. He told us lots of interesting facts. Overall we are happy to recommend Rich.

Our tour with Rich was great! So much cheaper than cruise ship excursions. We travel a lot and try to seek out locals to learn about the area. We really enjoyed our time in Ketchikan because of Rich. After seeing bears, eagles and otter, he took us to an amazing waterfall! It was beautiful! We saw more on this tour than we did on the one we booked through the cruise ship for Skagway and paid 3 times more. We decided we would grab some lunch when we got back into town but It began to rain heavily on our way back. Rich dropped us off in front of the restaurant we decided on so we didn't have to walk in the rain! If you are looking for a laid back adventure with a local native, then Aurora tours is the way to go.

    Great trip with Rich!

Owner and Alaskan native Rich took us on an amazing tour to see bears! He knew exactly where to take us for the best viewings. He is very knowledgeable and we had several locations of bear sightings! Would highly recommend!

Worst tour ever/ don’t waste your time

If I could give it a zero rating I would. This was the worst tour & sight seeing I’ve ever experienced. Richard sure did talk himself up. We’re going to see bears, eagles, & whales.. (didn’t happen). He drove us up and down the road next to the boat dock. Stopped on the side of the road a couple times to “look” for wildlife. Took us to some ugly place where drainage pipes from a salmon place were pouring out & stopped by his friend Scotty’s house twice to stare at his yard. He never shut up, just constantly talked about himself. He was also eating cough drops & said his throat was dry from talking, my boyfriend woke up the next day with a sore throat & today (2 days later) coughing & hacking with a chest cold. Richard is a liar. He told us a story from his trip to Texas that was obviously bs. Every one of his stories were completely embellished, except maybe the one about his wife being a bad alcoholic. What a waste of time this man was.. more than a waste he was a deficit.

Memeories that Last A Lifetime: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ketchikan.

How much does Memeories that Last A Lifetime cost?

    +

Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ketchikan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Memeories that Last A Lifetime take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ketchikan is not rushed.

Is Memeories that Last A Lifetime worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ketchikan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Memeories that Last A Lifetime?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Memeories that Last A Lifetime suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Memeories that Last A Lifetime?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ketchikan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ketchikan and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Memeories that Last A Lifetime start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ketchikan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ketchikan?

    +

Ketchikan runs short, cruise-timed excursions: Misty Fjords floatplane flights, Tongass rainforest zip lines, totem park tours, crab feasts and wildlife boats up the Behm Canal. On Outty we rank every Ketchikan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ketchikan Kayak Eco-Tour, Off the Beaten Path Ketchikan Photo Safari - 3 hr., Ketchikan Shore Excursion: Rainforest Canopy Ropes and Zipline Adventure Park. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ketchikan?

    +

May to September, matching the Alaska cruise season. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ketchikan?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
