Land and take-off on the lake.
Unbelievable scenery on a perfect day!! Saw beautiful lakes, wildlife, and mountain peaks. Landing and taking off on the lake was a wonderful experience. Enjoyed my time taking pictures and soaking in the sun on the lake. This is something to do at least once in a lifetime while vacationing in Alaska. This excursion was expensive, but worth it.

Breathtaking views, lake...
Breathtaking views, lake landing stop was a nice benefit, got close enough to some of the ridges you could almost touch them. Everyone was very friendly. Be warned seats are not for comfort but even at 6’6’ I was able to mostly fit.

Did he just land ON the lake??? WOW!
We loved our experience in Misty Fjords with the bush plane tour. Our pilot Steve was very knowledgeable. Lesley, the owner, was so communicative and helpful! Her crew picked us up and brought us to the sight. We lost our minds when Steve landed in the water in the middle of Big Goat Lake. We saw some incredible sights. Worth the money, and for someone who flies commercial even somewhat regularly, not scary. You’re under the clouds so it’s a different kind of air pressure. Plane holds 10 passengers.

Once in a Lifetime Experience
This is a beautiful quiet view of The Misty Fiords which are absolutely beautiful. There is no other way to see it with such tranquility and amazing views. I would do it again when I visit Alaska.

Gorgeous scenery!
Another spectacular tour of the Misty Fjords in Ketchikan. The pilot was skilled, informative about the landscape and native people. My daughter and I took the Misty Fjords and Wilderness tour by boat the day before and it was really awesome to see it from both perspectives, sea and by air! Gorgeous scenery!

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Misty Fjords Flightseeing 1 hour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ketchikan.
How much does Misty Fjords Flightseeing 1 hour cost?
+
Prices start at $441 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ketchikan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Misty Fjords Flightseeing 1 hour take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ketchikan is not rushed.
Is Misty Fjords Flightseeing 1 hour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 295 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Ketchikan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Misty Fjords Flightseeing 1 hour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Misty Fjords Flightseeing 1 hour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Misty Fjords Flightseeing 1 hour?
+
Around 103 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ketchikan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ketchikan and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Misty Fjords Flightseeing 1 hour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ketchikan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ketchikan?
+
Ketchikan runs short, cruise-timed excursions: Misty Fjords floatplane flights, Tongass rainforest zip lines, totem park tours, crab feasts and wildlife boats up the Behm Canal. On Outty we rank every Ketchikan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ketchikan Kayak Eco-Tour, Off the Beaten Path Ketchikan Photo Safari - 3 hr., Ketchikan Shore Excursion: Rainforest Canopy Ropes and Zipline Adventure Park. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ketchikan?
+
May to September, matching the Alaska cruise season. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ketchikan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
