Beautiful bookstore. Be prepared for a lot of people as it is a popular tourist site. Lots of books in a variety of languages. It is a one way tour so be sure to look around each floor before you move on to the next.

It’s always better to pre book the slot and visit the library because of huge crowds. It’s better to take the silver ticket without any time limit. Great arrangements by Viator making the experience seamless

Viator cancelled to get a higher profit!!!!
Be careful with the Viator tour we booked ours weeks in advance and because of high demand and their ability to get a higher price this operator canceled our tour the night before. We were able to get the same tickets for four times price if you are unable to pay that increase price, you will have disappointed children. As a result, we canceled two other viator tours worth many times the value of this small book tour, very disappointing and will never use Viator again.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we are truly sorry to hear about your experience. We want to clarify that we do not cancel bookings in order to resell them at higher prices. This is absolutely not our policy, and we fully understand how upsetting and disappointing this situation must have been—especially with children involved and plans made in advance. In rare cases, cancellations may occur due to operational constraints or availability issues beyond our control, but we acknowledge that the timing and impact in your case were far from acceptable. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and for the disruption to your travel plans. We also regret to hear that this situation affected your confidence in booking through platforms like Viator and led to the cancellation of other experiences. That is certainly not the experience we want any of our guests to have. Please feel free to contact us directly so we can review your case in detail and provide a clearer explanation of what happened. Your feedback is extremely important to us, and we are committed to improving our processes and communication to prevent situations like this in the future. We truly regret the disappointment caused and hope to have the opportunity to restore your trust. Warm regards, Luka Destinations

THIS TICKETING IS A SCAM
We paid almost $130 for three “exclusive”, skip the line, special tickets. When we got there no one knew anything about these tickets. And we waited in line with everyone else. There was no guide or booklet or voucher for a book discount. The tickets that were finally sent to us at the last minute were basic 12 euro(@$15) entry tickets. So we were charged $130 for something that should have cost $45. I immediately complained to the provider and TripAdvisor. The provider refunded @ $50. Fine but $80 for three tickets valued at $45!!!! I have reached out to the provider and TripAdvisor everyday for the past week but I have gotten no further response/ explanation at all. I have been booking thru TripAdvisor for years and have always felt safe doing so as they vetted their providers. Now I will have to rethink my reliance on TripAdvisor as this was clearly a total scam!
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we are truly sorry to read about your experience. We want to be absolutely clear: what you describe is not the standard of service we aim to provide, and we fully understand your frustration regarding the confusion with the tickets for Livraria Lello, the waiting time, and the difference between what was advertised and what you received. Please note that our intention is always to provide a smooth and transparent experience, including clear instructions, correct ticket delivery, and full inclusion of all benefits described. In this case, it is evident that something went wrong, whether in communication, ticket type, or timing of delivery, and for that we sincerely apologize. We also understand your dissatisfaction with the partial refund. While a refund was issued, we recognize that this may not fully reflect your expectations given the situation, and we regret the inconvenience caused. Your case is being taken very seriously. We would kindly ask you to contact us directly once more at our official support email so we can review this situation in detail and work toward a fair resolution. We are also following up internally to ensure clearer communication and to prevent situations like this from happening again. We truly regret the negative impact this had on your visit and on your trust, and we hope to have the opportunity to make things right. Warm regards, Luka Destinations

Why this scores 44
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Lello Bookshop Entry Ticket + Porto Local Restaurants Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.
How much does Lello Bookshop Entry Ticket + Porto Local Restaurants Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lello Bookshop Entry Ticket + Porto Local Restaurants Guide take?
+
Plan for about 0.7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.
Is Lello Bookshop Entry Ticket + Porto Local Restaurants Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 44 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lello Bookshop Entry Ticket + Porto Local Restaurants Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lello Bookshop Entry Ticket + Porto Local Restaurants Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lello Bookshop Entry Ticket + Porto Local Restaurants Guide?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 0.7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lello Bookshop Entry Ticket + Porto Local Restaurants Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Porto?
+
On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Porto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Porto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
