The Rongai Trailhead is Kilimanjaro's only route beginning from the north side and crossing the mountain. It is used by few trekkers. It joins with the Marangu Route on the final ascent to the summit on the fourth day, but otherwise few others are seen along the way. This route affords the opportunity to witness up-close the Mawenzi volcano, the second highest peak of Kilimanjaro, and the magnificent saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo Peak. Due to the rugged terrain and the very limited acclimatization time, fitness plays a huge role in the enjoyment and success of this trek. Each day you see many changes of vegetation and scenery, due to the rising terrain and decrease in precipitation. The accommodation is in mountain tents and dining is in our mess tents. Toilet tents with convenient and sanitary portable flush toilets are set up at all camps.

Awsome experience with Wild root safari

The team is very good, from the start to the end they were with us for everything and so lovely. The experience was excellent, they chose a good hotel for our arrival and then transferred us smoothly on the way to Kilimanjaro. There the guide and the hiking team were at the top (we saw other camps taking 2x time to be set up : ) !!!). Same, the guide manage us carefully and thinks to that we made it until the top even if I was difficult for me. To complete our stay in the area, we also took some safari (2 days): amazing !!! . It will stay as one of our best trip, Think you Wild Root !!!!!!

Response from the operator: Hi Sacha Thanks so much for reviewing us and great to hear you had the great experience traveling with our company. You were amazing couples very friendly to everyone one that made even the trek run smoothly and reach at the top. We wish you all the best in this journey called life.
