From A to Z - great service and trip execution.

Not easy to choose from the many different operators offering similar schedule and accommodation. However, Luxury Holidays Nepal Pvt. Ltd. were very good right from the start of early communication, emails, whatsapp, calls, everything. Timely and clear answers, and then all aspects of the trip itself. Dambar was a great guide, knowledgable, friendly and very accommodating to a not-so-easy and very demanding group to be honest. Very happy overall with the service, will use them again for sure.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful and honest review! We truly understand that choosing the right operator can be challenging, so it means a lot to hear that you found Luxury Holidays Nepal Pvt. Ltd. reliable and responsive right from the very beginning. Clear communication and smooth coordination are something we always strive for. We’re especially happy to hear that Dambar made such a positive impact on your trip. His knowledge, patience, and friendly approach are qualities we value greatly, and we’re glad he was able to take great care of your group throughout the journey. Your kind words about the overall service and execution mean a lot to us. We truly appreciate your trust and look forward to welcoming you again for another memorable adventure in Nepal! Warm Regards, Luxury Holidays Nepal Team

12 day Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek experience

When we were looking to do the Everest base camp trek, we wanted to go with a tour that had a little more comfort. We discovered Luxury Holidays Nepal and were not disappointed. From the booking experience with Resham, until the entire experience ended, it was amazing. Resham answered every question we had before, during and after the booking process in a timely manner…and there were over 80 emails in that thread! When we finally arrived in Kathmandu, meeting our driver was easy. He guided us through the crowds to a comfortable car and dropped us off at our hotel. We had a day tour of Kathmandu the next day which was great. I think given how tired we were, an option to shorten the tour would have been good, although we could have asked too. Our tour guide was highly knowledgeable and we did appreciate learning about the Nepalese culture. It actually helped to have this knowledge going into the trek. Day 1 of starting our trek, although chaotic at the airport, went seamlessly. I think the only feedback I could give is that we didn’t know we had to pay a departure tax. We didn’t mind, it’s not expensive, but we didn’t have the cash ready and were surprised by it. We had a helicopter to Lukla and met our guide Dambar and porters upon arrival. We had a quick breakfast where Dambar explained some of the important points of the trek, and off we went on our adventure. It was a private tour, just the 3 of us, Dambar and 2 porters. We walked slow, and at no time did we ever feel rushed. We were so slow that at times, our porters would drop off our duffle bags at the tea house and come back to help us with our backpacks! They didn’t need to do that but it was appreciated. The accommodation was excellent. Definitely not roughing it at all. It was beyond what we imagined, and even from Dingboche and above where luxury no longer existed, the lodges and tea houses were clean and very comfortable. The trek itself is the same for everyone, but having Dambar by our side made the experience. He spent time with us in the tea houses and lodges. We got to know him as a person, not just someone who was guiding us on a trek and pointing out sights. We will always be eternally grateful for Dambar for looking after us, keeping us safe and being part of our journey. We would highly recommend this tour with Luxury Holidays Nepal.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and heartfelt review! We’re absolutely delighted to hear that your 12-day Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek exceeded expectations and provided the comfort and experience you were looking for. A special thank you for your kind words about Mr. Resham; he will be thrilled to know that his support throughout the booking process made everything smooth and reassuring for you. We’re also very happy to hear that your Kathmandu experience helped set the stage for the trek, and we truly appreciate your helpful feedback regarding the tour flexibility and airport departure tax; we will certainly take this into account to improve future experiences. Most importantly, it means so much to us that Dambar and the porters made such a lasting impact on your journey. Their care, dedication, and genuine connection with guests are what truly make these treks special, and we’re glad you felt supported every step of the way. We’re thrilled that the accommodations and overall organization met your expectations and helped create a comfortable and memorable adventure in the Himalayas. Thank you again for your high recommendation. We hope to welcome you back to Nepal for more incredible journeys in the future! Warm Regards, Luxury Holidays Nepal Team

A legendary 60th birthday triumph and a 5-star experience thanks to Dambar our guide and Yubraj our porter.

Our Everest Base Camp trek was an extraordinary, life-changing experience on so many levels. As two 60-year-olds celebrating our joint 60th birthdays, this was a massive achievement and a true test of endurance. Our success was entirely due to our extraordinary guide, Dambar, and our porter, Yubraj. These two are absolute legends! They treated us like royalty, resolved every challenge with a smile, and constantly went above and beyond to ensure our safety and comfort. Dambar’s expert navigation and careful gear checks—ensuring we were perfectly equipped for -14°C nights—and Yubraj’s incredible strength and kindness were truly inspiring. They shared the heart of Nepal with us; we even finished the trek with prayer flags on our packs and the mantra Dambar taught us, 'Om Mani Padme Hum,' in our hearts. They turned a physically demanding trek into a seamless, celebratory experience. If you book the EBC trek, we recommend asking for Dambar and Yubraj by name. We highly recommend the helicopter return, which was a spectacular and soul-stirring way to conclude such an epic adventure. For anyone our age considering this: Don’t be put off! You are never too old to try. It is a magnificent accomplishment, though we do recommend putting in the work to get fit beforehand to truly enjoy the experience. As a Kiwi, it was also extremely moving to follow in the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary, albeit to Base Camp only! From the breathtaking scenery to the rhythm of mountain life—the porters, donkeys, and yaks—it was a once-in-a-lifetime journey we will never forget. We are so proud of this milestone. We return home with incredible memories, a huge sense of pride, and deep gratitude for the field staff who made our dreams a reality. Truly a 5-star experience thanks to Dambar and Yubraj!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such an inspiring and heartfelt review! We are truly honored to have been part of your legendary 60th birthday celebration; what an incredible achievement! Completing the Everest Base Camp trek is no small feat, and doing it as a milestone journey makes it even more special. Your story is genuinely motivating. A very special thank you for your kind words about Dambar and Yubraj. They will be absolutely thrilled to hear how much of a positive impact they had on your journey. Their dedication, care, and spirit truly represent the heart of Nepal, and we’re so glad they could turn such a challenging trek into a seamless and celebratory experience for you. It’s wonderful to hear how deeply you connected with the culture, from the prayer flags to the mantra, and how meaningful it was to follow in the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary. These are the moments that make the Himalayas truly unforgettable. We’re also glad you enjoyed the helicopter return; it really is a spectacular way to conclude such an epic adventure. And your encouragement to others is incredibly powerful: you’re absolutely right, age is no barrier with the right preparation and mindset. Thank you again for trusting us with such an important journey. We’re so proud of your achievement and hope to welcome you back to Nepal for more unforgettable adventures in the future. Warm Regards, Luxury Holidays Nepal Team

Team Ram from Australia

Our EBC trek was unforgettable, thanks to our guide Ram and his superstar team of porters. Ram’s part-mountain goat, part-motivational speaker, and somehow still found time to chat about cricket! His knowledge, calmness, and perfectly timed jokes made every steep climb feel easier. The porters were absolute weapons; hauling our gear up the Himalayas with smiles that never faded. They had our bags waiting, tea ready, and morale high every day. If you’re heading to Everest Base Camp, do yourself a favour; go with Ram and his crew. You’ll get breathtaking views, a few good laughs, and probably a cricket chat at 5,000 metres. Five stars. Would trek again in a heartbeat.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic review and for sharing such a fun and heartfelt account of your Everest Base Camp Trek experience! We are absolutely thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your journey with Ram and his incredible porter team. His passion, humor, and dedication truly make him one of our finest guides — and we’re so glad his “part-mountain goat, part-motivational speaker” energy kept you going all the way to Base Camp! Your kind words about our porters mean a lot to us as well. They are the backbone of every successful trek, and your appreciation will surely motivate them even more. Thank you once again for choosing Luxury Holidays Nepal. We’d love to welcome you back for another Himalayan adventure — maybe even another cricket chat at 5,000 meters! Warm regards, Luxury Holidays Nepal Team

Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return - Private/Group: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return - Private/Group cost?

+

Prices start at $2075 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return - Private/Group take?

+

Plan for about 288 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return - Private/Group worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 42 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return - Private/Group?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return - Private/Group suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 288-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return - Private/Group?

+

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 288-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return - Private/Group start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
