First-time EBC. Everything was perfect

This was hands down the best trip ever and I would recommend Trekking Planner to anyone thinking about hiking in Nepal. From the manager Dipak, to our guide Kiran, and our porter Pasang - everything was handled to perfection and everyone was so professional and made us feel at home. I did not do much research and had little high altitude hiking experience, but this company helped me have the smoothest experience that exceeded my expectations. I learned so much about high altitude hiking, how to do acclimatization, and the trekking ecosystem in Nepal. I feel confident about doing it again thanks to the people at Trekking Planner. I teared up when I left the mountains. It is the magic of the Nepalese mountains as well as the people that makes you leave a piece of your heart there. First, our guide, Kiran, was one of the kindest and coolest people I’ve ever met! He made this whole experience even more memorable. He is very knowledgeable, patient, observant, and kind hearted. On the Dingboche acclimatization day, I climbed my first snow mountain and I was initially quite scared. But all thanks to Kiran, I had the best day ever. He took the time to teach me how to walk in thick snow, got crampons ready for me, and encouraged me the whole time. The views up there were breathtaking, and I was so proud of myself haha. In places where the snow or rocks were difficult to navigate, Kiran would show me which rocks to step on. He was also offering helping hands to almost every trekker going up and shared advice with the trekkers we met. We could all tell that he truly enjoys what he does and genuinely wants everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience. What made it even more special was that, along the way, we saw a lot of other groups whose guides barely interacted with their guests and seemed to treat it as just a job. But I really became friends with Kiran. We talked about our life stories, shared music and movies, and, of course, learned about the mountains. Kiran quizzed me on mountain names and types of animals (even though I failed miserably every day), and I truly felt like I was becoming part of the community rather than just being a tourist. It was really Kiran who made this experience even more fun. And to our porter Pasang. So fit and reliable, with a great personality! Every day I was in awe of how fast and briskly Pasang could walk with 20kg on his back. The Sherpas are the true heroes of the Himalayas. And Dipak, so responsive and reliable. I contacted a few local trekking companies, and Dipak was always the one who responded to my questions the fastest and in the most detail. Apparently he has 25+ years of experience in the trekking business and knows the ins and outs. His knowledge and flexibility allowed me to customize the trip and accommodate changes along the way. If you want to add a route, you can; if you are feeling unwell, he is ready to arrange emergency help such as calling a helicopter. Now I truly understand what people mean when they say “you come to Nepal for the views, but come back for the people” - for their warmth, kindness, hospitality, and resilience. When I come back, I will definitely book another trip with Kiran and Trekking Planner.

不开玩笑，这趟 EBC 徒步真的远远超出了我的想象。一路上的雪山、河谷、村庄和森林，真的有种“人间塞尔达”的感觉，太美了，也太值得了。 也特别特别感谢我的向导 Umesh。 一路上他都非常耐心、靠谱，也一直很照顾我的状态。刚开始的时候，我甚至还会怀疑是不是走得有点慢，但他一直很耐心地告诉我不用着急，也会不断鼓励我。后来海拔越来越高，我又有一点感冒和高反，他会一直留意我的状态，从每天的徒步节奏，到吃饭、住宿、休息，都照顾得很好。他从来不会催我赶路，也不会让我觉得有任何压力。 这趟行程其实并不轻松。天气、海拔和体力都有不少挑战，但真的特别特别特别值得。因为有 Umesh 在，我一路上都觉得很安心。他非常熟悉这条路线，也知道什么时候应该慢一点，什么时候可以继续往前走。 除了专业之外，他本人也特别好相处。一路上我们聊天、看风景、开玩笑，他会告诉我每一座山叫什么，也会跟我分享很多关于这里的事情。原本很辛苦的徒步，因为这些瞬间变成了一段特别开心的旅程。 尤其是最后下撤的那几天，真的巨美。一路边走边拍，我甚至成功把 Umesh 训练成了一个越来越会拍照的摄影师 😂 最后真的觉得自己非常幸运，这次遇到了 Umesh。对我来说，这趟旅行已经不只是“完成了 EBC”，而是真的留下了一段非常非常珍贵的回忆。 如果以后还有机会回到尼泊尔徒步，我一定还会找他。也会毫不犹豫地把 Umesh 推荐给任何想来 EBC 的朋友。 Thank you so much, Umesh! 🏔️❤️ No exaggeration — this EBC trek was far beyond anything I had imagined. The mountains, valleys, villages, forests, and trails genuinely felt like stepping into a real-life Zelda world. It was absolutely beautiful and 100% worth it. And a huge thank you to my guide, Umesh. He was incredibly patient, reliable, and always attentive to how I was feeling. At the beginning, I even wondered whether we were walking a little too slowly, but he kept reassuring me that there was no need to rush and encouraged me throughout the trek. As we reached higher altitudes, I caught a bit of a cold and experienced some mild altitude sickness. Umesh kept a close eye on me and always made sure the trekking pace, meals, accommodation, and rest were right for my condition. He never rushed me or made me feel pressured at any point. This trek definitely wasn’t easy. There were challenges from the weather, altitude, and physical effort, but it was so, so, so worth it. Having Umesh with me made me feel safe and reassured throughout the whole journey. He knows the route extremely well and always seemed to know when we should slow down, take a break, or keep moving. Beyond being professional, he was also just a really fun person to travel with. We talked, laughed, enjoyed the scenery together, and he taught me the names of all the mountains along the way. Those little moments made even the hardest trekking days genuinely enjoyable. And the final days of the descent were unbelievably beautiful. We took so many photos along the way that, by the end of the trip, I had even managed to train Umesh into a pretty good photographer 😂 I honestly feel very lucky that I had Umesh as my guide. For me, this trip became much more than simply “reaching Everest Base Camp.” It gave me memories that I will genuinely treasure for a very long time. If I ever come back to Nepal for another trek, I would absolutely choose Umesh again. And I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone planning an EBC trek. Thank you so much, Umesh! 🏔️❤️

EBC Trek with Trekking Planner

Went on an ebc trek in early sept with our guide Dibash & porter Navaraj Tamanj whom we known as Kaka from trekking planner and had an absolute good time! Dibash constantly checked on our health status and ensured that we felt okay everyday after each trek. We completed ebc trek successfully & were entertained each day after the trek as we played card games with Dibash & Kaka. Apart from the trek, Pickups & Dropoffs went smoothly and questions were answered soonest.

Great trek with our guide Dibash Lamichhane

had a really good trek to the Everest Base Camp. Dibash Lamichhane was our guide and he paid a lot of attention to making sure we were safe and had a good trek. He was very knowledgeable about the trek and brought us through safely! Our porter Navaraj Tamanj who we knew as Kaka was also very helpful and assisted us wherever he could. thank you to Dibash and Kaka! You made our trip a great and memorable one.
