Great experience with Everest Base Camp trek

My husband and I did Everest Base Camp trekking with Alpine Luxury Treks Pvt Ltd organised by Badri. The nick name I have given to Badri is ‘Smiling Badri’ as that is what he is - always a smile on his face. Right from initial queries and communication during planning to the last day of farewell dinner what was incredible with Badri was his prompt replies and punctuality of his entire team. Also no request however big or small was an issue for Badri. He tried his level best to attend to them and these things money cannot buy. I think these attributes makes him and his team and company stand out ! The EBC trek we did as a couple was our unique way to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and our journey together. Our guide Thile, porters Dinesh and Kishore with Badri made it so special and unique by getting us a celebration cake right at the EBC. We will cherish this forever!! A big shout out for our guide Thile and porters Dinesh and Kishore who made our dream to reach EBC a reality. A big thank you to all three of them. Thile was a great guide again with a smile always and took great care of us on the trek again which is priceless. He had many years of experience as a guide. He was humble and took any feedback given very constructively. I can’t wait to go on another trek with Badri, Thile and rest of his team. Thank you to Badri’s help Sudeep and local guide Ranjan who was very knowledgeable and drivers Ashish and Ravi. Keep it up and our best wishes to the team.

Response from the operator: Dear Vaishali, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a touching and generous review. Being part of your 30th wedding anniversary journey to Everest Base Camp was a true honor for me and the entire Alpine Luxury Treks family. Your kind nickname “Smiling Badri” means more than you know. We genuinely believe that a positive attitude, quick help, and small, kind gestures—like the surprise cake at EBC—can make a trek memorable. I’m so glad that came through in your experience. Thile, Dinesh, and Kishore will be thrilled to hear your words—they were proud to walk beside you on this adventure. Thank you for recognizing Sudeep, Ranjan, Ashish, and Ravi. They are essential for making our trips smooth and memorable. We’ll be ready with open arms, smiling faces, and strong legs for your next trek—whenever possible—until then, sending you our warmest wishes and heartfelt gratitude. With warm regards, Alpine Luxury Treks Team

Best Trekking company ever!

We organised our EBC trek with Badri and his team. From the beginning we were very impressed with Badri's professionalism and communication skills. He provided service with a smile and was always quick to respond to our queries. He was very flexible with our needs and helped make changes in our itenerary at very short notice. The guide we had for EBC was Thile who was very helpful and knowledgeable. Porters Dinesh and Kishore were brilliant and unwavering. We were treated to a surprise cake celebration to celebrate our anniversary once we reached EBC.

Everest Base Camp Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Everest Base Camp Trek cost?

+

Prices start at $4500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Everest Base Camp Trek take?

+

Plan for about 384 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Everest Base Camp Trek?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 15. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 384-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Everest Base Camp Trek?

+

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 384-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Everest Base Camp Trek start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
