Amazing EBC trek with a highly experienced and local team

Had an amazing EBC trek experience with Unique Path two weeks ago. The team came recommended to us and was well coordinated throughout. Since Day 0, Mr Babu has been very patient and prompt in answering our queries. Not to mention, in a very organised fashion, too, which sealed the deal as decision-making was so easy! During the trek, we were very well cared for by the guiding team, Ishwor and (another) Babu. Ishwor is an experienced guide who shared useful knowledge about the region. What impressed us was his excellent pacing and knowledge of the terrain. He managed our expectations very well, so we were able to enjoy the trek without being overwhelmed by the daily hours of trekking. We also appreciated his infectious positive energy and encouragement. Even in Kathmandu, Ishwor was very helpful with navigation, knowing that it was our first time in Nepal. Babu, our porter, always wore a smile despite our limited interactions, which was energising in itself. Highly recommend the team at Unique Path who left us a memorable time in Nepal and safely and successfully supported us to EBC!

Thanks for the amazing expedition to EBC!

Our recent EBC trip with Unique Path, Mr Babu, our guide Ishwor, and our sherpa Babu was truly an amazing and well-organised experience. The entire journey was coordinated smoothly and efficiently. We are especially grateful to the team for patiently addressing all our questions during the preparation phase, which gave us great confidence before the trip began. The accommodations in Kathmandu were comfortable, and the teahouses along the trek were well-arranged. Ishwor consistently went the extra mile to ensure that our needs were well taken care of, especially during our rest periods. We were able to fully focus on the journey and immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature. Ishwor did an excellent job sharing insights about the region, while pacing our trek carefully to ensure proper acclimatization. He was incredibly patient and encouraging, allowing us to catch our breath when needed, while still ensuring we reached each destination safely and made our way back down to Kathmandu without issues. A special thanks as well to our sherpa Babu, who ensured our belongings were safely and promptly transported between stops. It was always reassuring to arrive at each teahouse knowing our gear was already there, ready for the night’s rest. We highly recommend Mr Babu and his team to anyone planning an expedition — you’ll be in very good hands.

Suresh will elevate your trek, higher than EBC elevation

I did a tour with Suresh and I cannot recommend him enough. He is such a kind, caring and funny guide. He can make you laugh and motivate you even when your legs are giving up! My trip would not have been the same without him! He is a ray of sunshine! I made a friend for life and I’d hike that again just for the laughter and memories we shared! He is the true Nepali spirit! Just book that trip and worry about training after!

If you’re considering the Everest Base Camp trek, you need someone like Babu and his incredible team.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp was a dream come true, and having Babu as our tour guide made the entire experience even more special. His team’s professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care stood out from day one. Babu’s team of guides was incredibly knowledgeable about the region, its culture, and the terrain. They kept us safe and well-informed and always encouraged us with a smile—even on the toughest days. One moment that showed his team’s dedication to our success was when one of us was struggling. One of his guides didn’t hesitate to carry one of our backpacks to lighten the load. That small act of kindness made a huge difference and speaks volumes about his team’s character. He made sure we were acclimatizing properly, always checked in on how we were feeling, and arranged everything seamlessly—from cozy teahouses to warm meals. If you’re considering the Everest Base Camp trek, you need someone like Babu and his incredible team. Thank you, Babu, for making this journey one of the most memorable experiences of our lives!

Unique Path helped us create memories of lifetime!

Babu review We were a group of 8 people who hiked EBC, guided by Babu’s team - Unique Path. It was a pleasure and satisfying experience interacting with Babu during every single stage of our trip. Planning: Babu provided comprehensive overview and details of the trip. He was very prompt and responsive to all our questions. We were able to customize the accommodations at various locations based on the recommendations provided by Babu as well as our own online research. Babu was open to our suggestions and provided valid feedback based on his experience. Babu put together a full comprehensive plan starting with pickup from the airport till drop off. He was open to having Zoom calls to go over all the questions that we had - which eased our concerns. Babu was able to arrange helis based on our preference. It was helpful that Babu showed flexibility with the mode of payment. Arrival Our main guide, Suresh, from Babu’s team greeted us at the airport with a flower garland! Such a good start for an amazing trip! Babu met us that afternoon along with Suresh for orientation and went over the whole agenda and helped us understand what to expect. He was able to help with currency conversion as well. Trek begins The guides Suresh, Lokee and Chota Suresh were all professional, caring and friendly! The main guide, Suresh, had a clear plan for every day which he explained at the dinner the previous night. He was flexible to work with our time preference- but was firm on the days that needed early departures. He was able to guage the speed and capability of our group and was able to adjust the departure and lunch times accordingly. They paid attention to the Oxygen level and determined the wellness of the team periodically. The assistant guides Lokee and chota Suresh were extremely respectful and helpful! The guides were able to identify key viewpoints and different mountains along the trek and educated us with their names. It was amazing to see the young porters who carried our heavy duffel bags- but always had a smile in their faces! It was a great feeling of accomplishment, test of physical, mental and emotional endurance, which would not have been possible without this amazing team! Back in Kathmandu: On return to Kathmandu , when one of our team members fell sick, Babu personally took him to the clinic and ensured proper care was given. Such gestures and attention to our comfort and well being was greatly appreciated. Babu was also able to arrange local tours while in Kathmandu. When time to leave, Babu gave us a finishing plaque and saw us off with a prayer scarf! Such personal touches during the entire trip made the trip more memorable! From receiving us the airport till our drop off, Babu’s attention to details and willingness to tailor design our trip was a satisfying experience. We’ll strongly recommend Babu and unique path to our friends and family!

Everest Base Camp Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Everest Base Camp Trek cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,350 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Everest Base Camp Trek take?

    +

Plan for about 264 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 43 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Everest Base Camp Trek?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 264-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Everest Base Camp Trek?

    +

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 264-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Everest Base Camp Trek start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kathmandu Sightseeing | UNESCO World Heritage sites Private/Group, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek: Private Group & Discounte Price. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
