Brilliant EBC Trek

Dealing with Karna and his company was incredibly easy and made this one of the best holidays I’ve ever had. His attention to detail, his quick responses made us feel confident that our trek will be well organised…and it was! Our guide and porters were fantastic, and it really was the trio of a lifetime. I’m looking forward to doing more walks in Nepal and I will not hesitate to contact Karna and Nepal Mother House Treks again.

Response from the operator: Dear Geoff, Namaste, and thank you so much for your lovely review of your Everest Base Camp Trek with Nepal Mother House Treks. We are happy to hear that your trip was one of the nicest holidays you have ever had. That means a lot to our entire staff. We are very pleased you enjoyed the planning and communication before the journey. We always feel that a successful Himalayan journey begins with trust, clear information, and deliberate planning; therefore, it is really pleasant to hear that our attention to detail and quick responses allowed you to feel confident from the start. We appreciate your compliments for Sameer Thapa Magar and our porters, Bijaya Kumar Tamang and Bir Bahadur Tamang. With Sameer’s expertise, gentle guidance, and local knowledge, plus the strength and devotion of Bijaya and Bir Bahadur, a challenging high-altitude trip becomes a comfortable, safe, and deeply satisfying one. We are glad that they helped to make your Everest Base Camp trek absolutely memorable. The trek to Everest Base Camp is a life experience, not just a destination, taking in stunning Himalayan vistas, Sherpa culture, mountain hospitality, and personal success. We hope that every trekker goes home feeling that it was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Thank you again for trusting Nepal Mother House Treks and for saying to come back to walk with us again. That's one of the biggest compliments we could have. If the mountains call you back, to Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang, or another undiscovered Himalayan route, it would be our honour to welcome you back. With kindest regards, The Karna Rana & Nepal Mother House Treks Family

Had a very nice trekking

It was a very good and nice trek, we had Sameer as a guide who speaks very good English and is very nice to deal with! He could tell us a lot about the mountains and other things! Overnight stay well arranged. Food everywhere delicious!

Response from the operator: Dear Corina, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback about your Everest Base Camp Trek with us. We are truly delighted to hear that your journey was excellent, enjoyable, and filled with positive experiences from start to finish. It makes us especially happy to know that your guide, Sameer, helped make your trek memorable. He is not only fluent in English but also deeply knowledgeable about the mountains, Sherpa culture, and the unique stories of the Khumbu region. We are glad that his guidance, explanations, and warm nature added so much value to your adventure. Your kind words about the accommodations and delicious food along the trail truly mean a lot to us. From your flight to Lukla and the gentle walk to Phakding, to the bustling energy of Namche Bazaar, the breathtaking views from Everest View Hotel, the spiritual peace of Tyangboche, the high-altitude beauty of Dingboche, and the rewarding climb to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) and Kala Patthar (5,550m)—every stop along the EBC trek is crafted to balance comfort, acclimatization, and unforgettable Himalayan scenery. We are delighted that everything—from your overnight stays to your meals—felt well arranged and satisfying throughout this classic 12-day journey. Your satisfaction is our greatest reward, and your review provides future trekkers with confidence and knowledge when selecting Nepal Mother House for their Himalayan adventure. We truly appreciate your trust in us and your kind recommendation. We would be honored to welcome you back to Nepal again—whether for another trek in Everest, the Annapurna region, Manaslu, Langtang, or one of Nepal’s many hidden gems. Warmest regards, Karna & The Nepal Mother House Treks Family

amazing guide - Mr Pratap

At first, you might misjudge Mr. Pratap because he doesn’t talk much when you first meet him. But as the trek goes on, you’ll quickly realize he’s one of the kindest, most patient, and genuinely friendly guides you could ask for. His deep experience and knowledge of the Everest Base Camp trail are truly impressive. He always knew the best routes, kept the group safe, and shared helpful information along the way. His calm and supportive presence made a big difference, especially on the tougher days of the trek. Having someone like Mr. Pratap as my guide turned this once-in-a-lifetime journey into something even more special.

Response from the operator: Dear Aung M, Hello! Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful note. We appreciate it. We're so glad to hear that you had such a wonderful time on the Everest Base Camp Trek with Cho La Pass. We were thrilled to hear you say such things about Mr. Pratap. At first, he is a quiet person, but as you said so well, his kindness, patience, and thorough knowledge of the trail come through as the journey goes on. We are really lucky to have him as a member of the Nepal Mother House family. We were pleased to help you and your great group from Thailand. The best thing we could ask for is to know that we helped make this once-in-a-lifetime trip even more spectacular. We'd love to have you back in Nepal for another great trip. Best wishes, Karna Rana

Excellent guide have us a fantastic overall experience

Excellent trip with our guide Jayaram. We got really lucky with the weather, both in terms of the flight to Lukla but also on our trek itself. Jayaram was very talkative, pointing out the various hills and checking our blood oxygen level each day. He was also really good with us on base camp day where we ended up walking back to Loboche instead of staying in Gorak Shep. Would highly recommend Jayaram and Nepal Mother House for trekking adventures.

Response from the operator: Dear Ellis, Namaste! We appreciate your nice comments and sharing of your experience with us. It makes us very happy to learn that your trip to Everest Base Camp with Jayaram was outstanding. It's fantastic that you could enjoy beautiful weather and that Jayaram's direction, knowledge, and encouragement made your trip especially unforgettable. We value your choice of Nepal Mother House for your trip; your advice means a lot to us. We want to welcome you once more for another amazing Himalayan journey! Best Regards, Karna Rana; Mother House of Nepal

Everest Base Camp Trek -12 Days by Expert Sherpa Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Everest Base Camp Trek -12 Days by Expert Sherpa Guide cost?

+

Prices start at $1940 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Everest Base Camp Trek -12 Days by Expert Sherpa Guide take?

+

Plan for about 288 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek -12 Days by Expert Sherpa Guide worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Everest Base Camp Trek -12 Days by Expert Sherpa Guide?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek -12 Days by Expert Sherpa Guide suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 288-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Everest Base Camp Trek -12 Days by Expert Sherpa Guide?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 288-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Everest Base Camp Trek -12 Days by Expert Sherpa Guide start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
