Beautiful 3-passes Everest Camp Trek

My husband and I hiked with Breakfree Adventures for our 16-day Everest Base Camp - 3 passes trek and I am so glad we did. It was a once-in-a-lifetime trek and the scenery was out of this world. I look back at the pictures and still can't believe that we were able to see and experience those moments in the mountains. Throughout the hike, you see 4 peaks over 8,000 meters tall and it is a truly humbling experience. We were happy to be in the hands of Breakfree Adventures. From the very start, they helped organize that trip at a competitive rate and it was a private tour with only my husband and I, with one porter and one guide. On the mountain, you see many large groups and we were so happy to have such a personal experience and go at our own pace instead of the slowest pace of those in a group. Our guide was experienced and our porter so friendly and helpful. Logistics were handled seamlessly by all involved in our trip and if we hiked again in Nepal I know we would go with Breakfree.

Response from the operator: Dear Mam, Thank you for sharing your amazing experience with Breakfree Adventures! We're thrilled that your 16-day Everest Base Camp - 3 passes trek was a once-in-a-lifetime journey with breathtaking scenery and humbling views of four peaks over 8,000 meters. We're glad our personalized service, experienced guide, and friendly porter made your trek memorable. We appreciate your kind words and look forward to assisting you with future hikes in Nepal! Absolutely amazing company to entrust for your tour of the Himalayas

My wife and I just returned for a 15 day trek to the Everest Region of Nepal and could not have had a more memorable experience. Truly grateful to Bharat and his team with Breakfree Adventures for providing world class service, and getting us safely into and back out of the highest mountains in the world. We experienced some of the most extraordinary mountain views in the world and have countless pictures to look back and remember this amazing trekking experience. I was fortunate to find Breakfree Adventures when I first came to Nepal in 2017, and I did not hesitate to reach back out when my wife decided she wanted to experience Nepal for the first time this year in 2024. I had full confidence that Bharat and Breakfree Adventures would once again provide a first class and safe trekking experience. All details of our trip were attended to professionally and quickly, and we were provided with a first class guide and porter for our 15 day/16 night trip in the Khumbu/Everest region of Nepal. We chose to add the Three Passes trek to the more common Everest Base Camp trek in order to challenge ourselves, experience three additional amazing viewpoints, and to make our trip a loop trek opposed to returning down the same way we hiked up. The Three Passes is an incredibly difficult trek with all three passes reaching over 5400m and sleeping over 4700m for over one week, but the views were simply extraordinary. We would highly recommend adding at least one pass, and a two night stay in Gokyo to anyone planning on visiting EBC. We were dealt poor weather on the day we were set to fly up to Lukla from Kathmandu to begin our trek and all flights were cancelled for the day. Luckily for us, Bharat with Breakfree knows everyone in the tourism business and surprised us with a helicopter upgrade, which kept us on schedule and was an amazing experience in its own right. Weather is always questionable in the high mountains of Nepal, but Bharat was quick to reassure us that he always has options and is constantly working to find a way to get his clients in or out of the mountains when weather becomes a problem. That said, it is always good to give yourself a couple nights in Kathmandu at the end of your trip to provide a buffer in case bad weather delays your trek or flight back out of the mountains. Trekking in the Himalayas of Nepal is a truly amazing experience. It is not easy to travel to these remote high mountain villages, however Breakfree Adventures knows this business extremely well, they have tremendous local guides and porters that they work with, and have all the logistics of food/accomodations as well as contingency plans sorted for if and when things change before you ever need to panic. We would highly recommend trekking in Nepal and visiting the Khumbu/Everest region, and can say with full confidence that Breakfree Adventures is best in class and will make your trip memorable and safe!

Response from the operator: Dear Nate, Thank you for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you and your wife had a memorable 15-day trek in the Everest region with us. It's great to know that Bharat and his team provided exceptional service and ensured your safety throughout the journey. We're glad you enjoyed the extraordinary mountain views, the challenging Three Passes trek, and the seamless logistics despite weather challenges. We appreciate your high recommendation and look forward to welcoming you back for more adventures! Kind regards, Breakfree Adventures Nepal. +977 9851014557 (WhatsAPP)

Excellent

I can only recommend Breakfree Adventure to anyone. The whole tour was well organized. In the evening our guide always gave us an overview of the next day. Even every single mountain during the ascent he could name us and he knew an answer to all our questions. The pick up service to the airport and back was on time and worked really great. The staff was always friendly and made every effort to take care of their guests. It was a breathtaking experience I will never forget. Thank you Breakfree Adventure!

Everest Base Camp trek 12 days from Kathmandu: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Everest Base Camp trek 12 days from Kathmandu cost?

+

Prices start at $1220 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Everest Base Camp trek 12 days from Kathmandu take?

+

Plan for about 288 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Everest Base Camp trek 12 days from Kathmandu worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Everest Base Camp trek 12 days from Kathmandu?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Everest Base Camp trek 12 days from Kathmandu suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 9. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 288-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Everest Base Camp trek 12 days from Kathmandu?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 288-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Everest Base Camp trek 12 days from Kathmandu start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
