The Perfect Short Safari from Zanzibar

During our stay in Zanzibar, we wanted to experience Tanzania's wildlife but didn't have enough time for a longer safari. Oldbeast Vacations recommended a 2-day fly-in safari to Mikumi National Park, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of our trip. Everything was organized perfectly from start to finish. The flight from Zanzibar was smooth, and within a short time we found ourselves surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of Mikumi National Park. It was amazing how quickly we could go from relaxing on Zanzibar's beaches to watching wildlife in the African bush. Our guide, John, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about wildlife. Throughout the game drives, he shared interesting facts about the animals and ecosystem while making sure we had the best possible viewing opportunities. His sharp eyes helped us spot animals we would have completely missed on our own. For a relatively short safari, we were amazed by how much wildlife we saw. We encountered elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, hippos, and several lion sightings. Every game drive brought something new and exciting. The accommodation arranged by Oldbeast Vacations exceeded our expectations. The lodge was comfortable, clean, and set in a beautiful natural environment. After a full day of wildlife viewing, it was wonderful to relax, enjoy a delicious dinner, and listen to the sounds of nature around us. What impressed us most was how effortless the entire experience felt. Mwanne and the Oldbeast Vacations team handled every detail, allowing us to simply enjoy the adventure. Even though it was only a 2-day safari, it never felt rushed, and we returned to Zanzibar with incredible memories and hundreds of photos. If you're visiting Zanzibar and looking for a short safari that offers excellent wildlife viewing, comfortable accommodations, and professional service, I highly recommend this Mikumi fly-in safari with Oldbeast Vacations. It was the perfect addition to our holiday and an experience we will never forget.

afari Magic & Ocean Bliss – Memories That Will Last Forever

What a truly wonderful company! From the moment I reached out to inquire about several day trips in and from Zanzibar, the communication was consistently clear, friendly, and prompt. I booked the Blue Safari in Zanzibar, and it was such a memorable experience. Our boat driver and guide were incredibly kind, making sure we felt safe, comfortable, and fully immersed in the beauty of the tour. I also went on the Nyerere/Selous Safari day trip from Zanzibar—and wow, it exceeded all my expectations. The guide and driver at the game reserve were simply outstanding. Although I sadly forgot their names, I’ll never forget how attentive and thoughtful they were. I mentioned wanting to see giraffes, and every time they spotted one, they stopped to let me fully soak in the moment. Their kindness, patience, and passion for the wildlife made the experience even more special. They even treated us to snacks and a delicious lunch right in the heart of the park. I would absolutely book with this company again—and again. If you're considering it, don’t hesitate. They truly care about making your trip unforgettable.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful review with us! We’re truly delighted to hear that your experiences from the Blue Safari to the Nyerere/Selous day trip were memorable and filled with moments that will stay with you. It means a lot to know that our team made you feel safe, cared for, and fully immersed throughout your adventures. Even though you may have forgotten the guides’ names, your kind words about their attentiveness and passion will surely make their day. They take great pride in creating meaningful, personalized experiences, and hearing that you felt that care is incredibly rewarding. We’re also thrilled that you enjoyed the small touches from the stops to see giraffes to the snacks and lunch in the heart of the park. These are the moments we love creating for our guests. Thank you again for your trust and your heartfelt recommendation. We’d be honored to welcome you back anytime for more unforgettable experiences!

How long does Day trip to Selous (Nyerere) National Park Flying From Zanzibar take?

+

Is Day trip to Selous (Nyerere) National Park Flying From Zanzibar worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Day trip to Selous (Nyerere) National Park Flying From Zanzibar?

+

Is Day trip to Selous (Nyerere) National Park Flying From Zanzibar suitable for kids and families?

How far in advance should I book Day trip to Selous (Nyerere) National Park Flying From Zanzibar?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Day trip to Selous (Nyerere) National Park Flying From Zanzibar start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Arusha?

+

On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Arusha?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Arusha?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
