Amazing tour guide, excellent organization by tour operator, comfortable and unforgettable experience
This was an amazing experience for us. We did the 9 day northern circuit through Meru slopes. The tour was very well organized and planned. All the admission fees and meals were taken care of by the tour operator. Accommodations were wonderful. Our tour guide Samweli Bahine was simply the best. He was so knowledgeable about not only the animals but also the fauna and flora, culture, and the history of the land. We learned a lot from Samweli. We saw all the big and small animals and more. He was always on time, friendly, and interesting to talk to. He made sure restaurants knew about our dietary restrictions (vegetarian and vegan). We had very good food with lots of veggie choices as a result. The safari vehicle was always kept clean and it was a comfortable ride even on bumpy roads due to Samweli’s safe and excellent driving. We communicated with Leonard Mkawi, the safari organizer, prior to the trip and Leonard made sure our trip was organized well. Samweli Bahine was the best tour guide—I cannot overstate how wonderful he is and how he made our trip an amazing experience. Overall, we highly recommend Meru Slopes and Tours. They made our experience in Tanzania safe, comfortable, enjoyable, pleasant, and unforgettable.

A trip of a lifetime
Trip of a lifetime. 10 Day Private Midrange Tarangire, Serengeti , Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park. We participated in a tour with the Masai and Materuni & Coffee Tour. Like a symphony the trip begins with a timely introduction. Every day was a new and exciting experience. We saw the big 5, the ugly 5 and the little 5. We took amazing photos and videos. Our team included Leonard the planner, Roberto the guide and Joesph the driver. The hot lunches daily were nutritious and tasty. Special mention for our accommodations: Under the Shade Safari Lodge, Bougainvillea, Sightseeing Luxury Tented Lodge, Embalakai Ngorongoro, Marera Valley Lodge. Our guide Roberto was knowledgeable, personable and patient. I would recommend Meru Slopes to anyone.

The trip of a lifetime!
We had a wonderful time during our 9 day private mid range Serengeti Safari. Everything was wonderful. All accomodation was great - clean, comfortable, and with friendly staff who were attentive to our needs. Food was great - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Only thing was there was too much food for lunch but better that than not enough 🥰. We were never hungry! The accomodation prepared packed lunches that we ate whilst out on Safari- everything so well organised. The actual Safari was superb! We cannot rave enough about the memories we have formed whilst out on safari with our wonderful guide Max. Max was very knowledgable about the culture and history of Tanzania and about ‘all things safari’. Max drove safely at all times and through his expertise we were able to meet our dreams of seeing lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, cheetahs, different monkeys, multiple types of antelope and many different birds. We will never forget our experiences and would highly recommend Max and Meru Slopes as the safari tour operator to choose. Our favourite place was the Serengeti where we spent 4 nights/5 days exploring. The days were packed from almost dawn to dusk whilst on the Serengeti. We also splurged on a balloon ride over the Serengeti and this was brilliant! So glad we did this (NYSSA were the balloon operators and Meru Slopes organised this for us). The quote and booking process was great too! We dealt with Almachius who was easy to deal with and very supportive of our needs. Nothing was a problem, even when we messaged Almachius at 1am in the morning via WhatsApp (Almachius answered at this time!) Overall we had one of the best experiences of our lives and will recommend Meru Slopes to our family and friends! Thanks Max and Almachius for helping us to create such wonderful experiences and memories!

Meru Slopes will exceed your expectations.
Our 9-day safari with Meru Slopes was truly exceptional from start to finish. Every detail was thoughtfully handled—communication was seamless, accommodations were incredible (from luxury tents to beautiful villas), and we felt comfortable and very well looked after the entire time. Traveling in March turned out to be such a great decision—there were very few crowds, and the weather was ideal, making the entire experience even more enjoyable and relaxed. What really made this trip unforgettable was our guide, Jacob. He was simply the best—an educator, skilled driver, explorer, and expert animal tracker all in one. He consistently went above and beyond to get us into the best possible positions for close-up wildlife encounters. His knowledge and passion brought every moment to life, and by the end of the trip, he truly felt like a friend. We also had wonderful experiences with others along the way, including drivers like Joseph, who was equally kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Kelvin, the manager, also met with us a few times along the way to check in, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch. Every person we encountered added to the warmth and quality of this journey. Meru Slopes exceeded our expectations in every possible way. Our family of five will forever be grateful for this unforgettable adventure and the care that went into creating it. We can’t wait to return!

A Once in a Lifetime Experience
I cannot recommend Meru Slopes highly enough. Our consultant, Almachius, was amazing. He tailored the trip to our needs and when we had a travel issue, adjusted things seamlessly. Our guide/driver Douglas was wonderful - very friendly, extremely knowledgeable about animal behaviour and an expert driver on those bumpy roads. We saw lots of incredible wildlife and the landscapes were magnificent. Accommodations and food were fantastic. It was an incredible experience and we highly recommend this company if you are planning a safari in Tanzania.

9 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Mid Range Safari: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.
How much does 9 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Mid Range Safari cost?
+
Prices start at $300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 9 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Mid Range Safari take?
+
Plan for about 216 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.
Is 9 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Mid Range Safari worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 9 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Mid Range Safari?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 9 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Mid Range Safari suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 216-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 9 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Mid Range Safari?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 216-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 9 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Mid Range Safari start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Arusha?
+
On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Arusha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Arusha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
