An Exceptional Safari Experience at a Very Reasonable Price
SPECTACULAR! My wife Marcia Seligson and I decided to go by ourselves as part of celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary. In 2019, we had gone with Africa Nature Photography with five other friends on a similar 2 week long safari guided by Anglebert Pantaleo, the founder and owner of this excellent safari provider. Anglebert met us at the Kilamanjaro Airport and introduced us to Robbie, who had worked with Anglebert for several years. Robbie was an excellent game spotter and a terrific driver of our safari vehicle. The accommodations Anglebert had arranged were super and the food was almost too good. One highlight was visiting a rhinocerous rescue and rehabilitation center and meeting a dedicated group of specialists helping these magnificent animals regain their strength to go back into the nature preserve rather than be hunted. For our second week, we flew in a small plane to the Serengeti where we were met by George from whom we soon learn regards the Serengeti as the most unique part of Tanzania. That week he told us there would be over a million and a half wildebeest as part of their yearly migration. In 2019, we had seen them crossing the Mara River. This week, most of them, and the Zebras accompanying them had already crossed. At the sight of these large magnificent animals, roaming through the many varieties of acacia trees during our game drives at sunrise and our second game drive before and during sunsets proved to be just as spectacular. George also helped Marcia learn to use her iPhone camera to take both videos and stills of the African wildlife. I was thrilled. Typically, Marcia leaves all of the photography to me. I was over the moon seeing my wife's face light up looking at the videos she took of the mother lion and her cub following our vehicle. Plus the three of us with George as the catalyst told stories about ourselves, our families and basically became close friends. George is a very spiritual person with a unique family history who my wife and I believe will accomplish remarkable things in his future. Yet, the most moving and meaningful part of this remarkable safari and visit to Tanzania occurred on the final day. Anglebert and Robbie took Marcia and I to a local primary school to plant two mango trees. This school serves 700 girls and boys, mostly from very poor families from the surrounding neighborhoods. It has only 14 teachers. Every student has a uniform with a matching hat, sneakers, and backpack. They welcomed us with bright smiles and singing a song. We were not asked, yet we made a donation to the school. They want to build a computer lab for the teachers and students. We strongly recommend Anglebert and his company to anyone (photographer or not) to book a one or two week or longer Safari experience. This is the 9th Safari my wife and I have experienced. I trust you can tell by this review and the fact that it is the 2nd time we have chosen Anglebert's company that we consider Africa Nature Photography the best choice for anyone wanting a bespoke 5 star experience.

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
8 Days Serengeti Photo Safari Calving Season: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.
How much does 8 Days Serengeti Photo Safari Calving Season cost?
+
Prices start at $2991 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 8 Days Serengeti Photo Safari Calving Season take?
+
Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.
Is 8 Days Serengeti Photo Safari Calving Season worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 8 Days Serengeti Photo Safari Calving Season?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 8 Days Serengeti Photo Safari Calving Season suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 192-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 8 Days Serengeti Photo Safari Calving Season?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 8 Days Serengeti Photo Safari Calving Season start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Arusha?
+
On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Arusha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Arusha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
