    First🥇Trip Was Incredible

At first, there was a little bit of a worry about camping, but the whole experience was much better. We went to Africa for the first time. The baobab trees and elephants of Tarangire, the vast plains of the Serengeti and the biodiversity within the Ngorongoro Crater - all are unforgettable. The guide always took us to the best place. Along with showing animals, he also taught a lot about local culture and nature. Accommodations were good, food was good and service was good. A must for nature lovers and adventurers. We want to go again next year!

Real Safari Experience With the Family

On the first day, the children were excited to see the huge elephant herds and baobab trees in Tarangire National Park. I love to eat in the middle of nature during a picnic lunch. The three days in Serengeti National Park were the most exciting. We are fascinated to see wildebeest migration, pride of lions and leopards in the endless meadows. I will never forget the sight of elephants and giraffes roaming near the tent one morning. At night, the sky filled with stars and the sound of wild animals made me feel at one with nature....... While going down to the Ngorongoro Crater, seeing the fog and greenery, it seemed like a scene from a movie. Seeing the hippo pool, rhino and Buffalo herd, I couldn't take my eyes off. The guide was very patient and knowledgeable. He explained the story easily to the children and took great care of safety. Accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious. Camping is a little rough, but that's the fun of a real safari. I would highly recommend this tour for those who want a truly wild experience with their family. Completely satisfied!

Incredible value for a proper bush experience

We have completed this 7-day camping safari... From the giant baobab trees of Tarangire to the vast plains of Serengeti and the incredible wildlife of Ngorongoro Crater - every day was magical. The campsites were simple but clean and well-organized.The experience of sleeping under the sky filled with them and hearing the call of a lion in the distance - such a feeling can never be forgotten. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and tried his best to see the Big Five. Also, the food was amazingly delicious. If you want an authentic and immersive safari experience without paying the price of a luxury lodge, then it is perfect. It's highly recommended!

    Awesome trip!

We had a wonderful 7 days of camping. From under the giant baobabs of Tarangire to the expansive plains of Serengeti and the stunning scenery of Ngorongoro Crater - every day was full of new adventures. Lying in a tent under a starry sky at night, listening to the calls of hyenas and lions, the birds wake up in the morning - this feeling can not be expressed in words. Accommodation was very comfortable and the food was excellent. This safari is a must-do for any adventure lover. It's highly recommended!

    7-Day Camping Safari – Our Family's Life-Changing Experience!

We (husband and wife and two boys) did this 7-day camping safari with African Overland, and it was the most memorable trip our family has ever had. Started in Tarangire - the children screamed at the sight of the elephant herd, set up camp under the baobab tree, and slept at night counting the stars in the sky. Then 3 days in the Serengeti - driving through the Wildebeest Migration, Lion Pride lying nearby, and waking up one morning to see elephants and giraffes roaming the campground - the children's eyes lit up! Guide Elibariki Simon was a prodigy - telling simple animal stories for children, giving safety tips, and listening to Maasai songs on the campfire at night. The tents at the camping sites are cozy, cooked food (fresh grills, veggie stew, pancakes) loved by all. At the end of the Ngorongoro Crater - while descending in the fog, seeing the pool of hippos and rhinos, I felt like I was in a dream. For those who want a real bush experience with the family, this tour of the African Overland is perfect. 5 stars - thank you to Elibariki and the team!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.

How much does 7-Day Camping Safari in Tanzania's Iconic National Parks cost?

    +

Prices start at $2,600 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 7-Day Camping Safari in Tanzania's Iconic National Parks take?

    +

Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.

Is 7-Day Camping Safari in Tanzania's Iconic National Parks worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Arusha?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Arusha?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
