One-day hike on the Machame Route
Before our 7-day safari, we did a one-day hike on the Machame Route of Mount Kilimanjaro. It was quite challenging, but we really enjoyed it. The start was a bit delayed because the guide, and specially the driver, arrived late at the meeting point. The route, through the rain forest is beautiful, and from the Machame Huts, we could see the top of the kilimanjaro mountain between the clouds. We had a nice and complete lunch box there. We also saw a troop of blue monkeys in our way down. The guide Modest and the driver Johnny were very kind. On the way down, we had to speed up because the guide wasn't sure if we would make it to the exit gate in time. Finally, we arrived with enough time to spare. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would definitely recommend this activity
Response from the operator: Wonderful to know that you enjoyed your adventure here in Tanzania - it was a pleasure to be your hosts. All we want is for everyone to fall in love with our country!

Incredible Kilimanjaro Experience with Suricata Safaris!
My girlfriend and I recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with Suricata Safaris, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with our experience! From the very start, their team showed professionalism, warmth, and genuine care to ensure our climb was not only successful, but unforgettable. The logistics were seamless — from arriving at the airport, to getting back to the hotel after climb. Guides kept great pace with “pole pole” in mind and gave us a lot of information about both nature around us and the hike itself. The porters were great and helped us with everything we needed. The meals were exceptional for each day’s trek, thanks to dr Watson. Everything was well organized and thoughtfully planned, which made the whole trip feel smooth and special. If you’re thinking about climbing Kilimanjaro, Suricata Safaris is a fantastic choice. Big thanks to Modest and the whole team for an unforgettable journey to the summit! 🌄✨
Response from the operator: We’re grateful for your feedback and for choosing us. While we’re pleased you enjoyed the experience, we apologize for any parts that fell short and will use your comments to improve.

Unforgettable Kilimanjaro Adventure with Modest and Team!
In October, I completed a 6-day trek on the Machame Route—and it was unforgettable! Everything was organized flawlessly. My guide, Modest, was outstanding: professional, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the journey. As a solo traveler, I felt completely at ease thanks to Modest and his amazing team. The porters were friendly and hardworking, and the chef kept us fueled with delicious meals (don’t worry—there’s plenty of food!). The Machame Route is breathtaking. Each day brought new scenery, and Modest explained the flora and fauna in every climate zone. We had great conversations along the way. My personal highlights: - Clear night skies with the Milky Way—magical! - Barranco Wall, adding an alpine kick to the trek. - Sunrise on summit day, watching the first light break over Africa from the roof of the continent. If you’re planning Kilimanjaro, I can highly recommend this route and, most importantly, ask for Modest. He and his team made my solo adventure safe, enjoyable, and truly memorable. Thank you, Modest and crew!
Response from the operator: We appreciate your amazing feedback! So glad you enjoyed every moment of your trip. Looking forward to welcoming you back!

Hiking Kilimanjaro with the Best Guide & an Incredible Team (6 Days – Marangu Route)
My sister and I decided to hike Kilimanjaro in November 2025, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of our entire Tanzania trip!! We successfully reached Uhuru Peak, and the experience was absolutely epic. I truly encourage everyone to try this at least once in your lifetime;) It was a challenging climb, but it became deeply meaningful because of my family and the amazing team we hiked with. Our lead guide, Fredy, supported us from start to finish, and we genuinely could not have summited without him. He has many many years of Kilimanjaro guiding experience, and he was perfect for us because we ask tons of questions. He patiently answered every single one with expert knowledge. I’m convinced that we avoided altitude sickness thanks to his guidance. ①setting the perfect pace ②giving the right advice ③telling us exactly when to take Diamox. His entire team was also incredibly motivated, supportive, and full of positive energy!!! Everything was perfect, and we were soo lucky to have them. I never realized how important a great guide is until this trip. I highly recommend Fredy to anyone planning to climb Kilimanjaro. And he speaks excellent English! Thank you so much for this unforgettable experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Response from the operator: Thank you for the 5 stars! We're delighted you had such a wonderful safari experience. Hope to see you again on another adventure!

Hands down, the BEST team in Tanzania!
We just completed the 7-day Machame route with Suricata, and I can confidently say they made the toughest Kilimanjaro route feel achievable AND enjoyable. From start to finish, the Suricata crew went above and beyond. Every meal was freshly prepared and delicious, camp was set up before we arrived each evening, and the team checked in constantly on our health and comfort. The guides AND porters positivity, encouragement, and professionalism made all the difference—you truly feel supported every single step of the way. Climbing Kilimanjaro is a huge challenge, but Suricata transforms it into an unforgettable, first-class adventure. Think of it as a 5-star hotel experience on the mountain—with the bonus of summiting Africa’s highest peak. If you’re considering Kilimanjaro, don’t think twice. Book with Suricata. I’d give them 10 stars if I could!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your safari and that our team made your journey memorable. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we’re so happy we could be a part of your adventure. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable experience in the future!

How many days do you need in Arusha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
