Amazing trip through the Yosemite high country
The team of Scott, Ethan and Joe could not have been better. They planned and led an amazing five day trek for our crew of Boy Scouts through the Yosemite high country. They provided all the food, gear and coordination. Thank you Lasting Adventures for an awesome trip!

Beautiful backcountry 4 day family hike
We had a great 4 days of backcountry hiking with John as our guide. We hiked from the Ostrander Lake trailhead to Glacier Point via Ostrander Lake, Hart Lake and Buena Vista Lake. This was a replacement for a Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne tour that was inaccessible due to a road closure. We were mostly hiking on faint trails, with a little bit of off-trail hiking. The scenery was amazing and we saw very few other people once we were a few miles from the trailhead. It was quite challenging at times but within what we’d requested and what we turned out to be capable of. It was a wonderful family experience. There were a couple of things we wouldn’t have done without a guide, including wading thigh deep across a fast flowing mountain stream (which was not necessary for our itinerary). John was a great guide - good company, very knowledgeable and experienced, and a great chef. The food was a positive surprise including freshly-made Penang Curry…not the prepackaged camping food I’d expected. One thing to bear in mind when choosing a tour is that hiking with a full backpack is much slower and harder work than carrying a light day pack. A good rule of thumb is to multiply by 3. Hiking 6 miles with 1500 feet elevation with a full backpack felt about the same effort as hiking 18 miles and 5,000 feet of elevation with a day pack.
Response from the operator: Thanks for this amazing review on this private family trip. I am glad your family had a great advneture and we agree that John is a great cook! Thanks again. -Scott

Amazing backpacking adventure in Yosemite!
My family of 4 just returned from the Amazing Sunsets backpacking trip with Lasting Adventures (5 days, 4 nights) . It was truly amazing! How soon can we go back?! From the time we booked the trip, the communication was helpful and clear. Meeting our guides in Curry Village was easy and they had everything organized for us to quickly begin our adventure. Our guides were Bella and Kanyon and they were FANTASTIC! They were knowledgeable about the area and routes, geology of the park, and plants and animals we saw along the way. The food they prepared exceeded our expectations! Bella and Kanyon were quick to share stories, offer guidance when needed, and were patient with all of us and our varying paces while hiking. Their energy and enthusiasm was contagious...they kept things fun! Experiencing the backcountry of Yosemite was such a gift. I appreciated having the opportunity to do optional day trips to explore other areas. We were able to swim by a waterfall which is something we all looked forward to doing. My family wanted to be challenged, work together, and explore this beautiful area. The trip did not disappoint! We will gladly book another trip with Lasting Adventures in the future (and hope Bella and Kanyon will be our guides again!).
Response from the operator: Thanks for this great review and you can come back now! I am also glad that Kanyon and Bella made your experince a great one while also delivering great food from the "bella Cafe." Hope to see you soon on another adventure. How about Olympic National Park? - Scott

Amazing First Hiking-Camping Experience
We were a group of 7 family members (ages 22-65 years old), for all of us was our first hiking/backpacking/camping experience. We all have such an amazing yet challenging experience, it was really worthy! Thank you so much to our guides Nicole and Jack for your cheers, your spirit, your cooking, your yoga time, your knowledge and for doing this family trip so great! We really enjoy it!!

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
5-Day Yosemite Backpacking - Amazing Sunsets: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Yosemite National Park.
How much does 5-Day Yosemite Backpacking - Amazing Sunsets cost?
+
Prices start at $2400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Yosemite National Park usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 5-Day Yosemite Backpacking - Amazing Sunsets take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Yosemite National Park is not rushed.
Is 5-Day Yosemite Backpacking - Amazing Sunsets worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Yosemite National Park, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 5-Day Yosemite Backpacking - Amazing Sunsets?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 5-Day Yosemite Backpacking - Amazing Sunsets suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 5-Day Yosemite Backpacking - Amazing Sunsets?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Yosemite National Park can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Yosemite National Park and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 5-Day Yosemite Backpacking - Amazing Sunsets start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Yosemite National Park within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Yosemite National Park?
+
Yosemite tours cover Valley loops to El Capitan and Half Dome viewpoints, Glacier Point sunsets, Mariposa Grove sequoias and waterfall hikes in spring melt. Day trips from San Francisco run long, so we weight transparency on drive time. On Outty we rank every Yosemite National Park experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Yosemite Highlights Small Group Tour, Yosemite Valley Private Hiking Tour, Yosemite Winter Highlights Small Group Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Yosemite National Park?
+
May to June for waterfalls, September to October for quiet trails. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Yosemite National Park?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
