Big5, Culture and Human History
This was our third trip to East Africa with Orongai Africa Safari and it was the most remarkable. The Guide Asser gave us a terrific experience. We managed to get fantastic close up views of birds and amazing wildlife including the famous "big five". We experienced the Masai way of life by visiting a local village; we went to Olduvai Gorge for a true open air museum of the early men. We brought home memories we will remember and cherish for our lifetimes.
Response from the operator: Hi, Good to hear from you as for now to us you are not a tourist but a family once you come again for the forth trip you will experience more than the others and also you will get the chance to experience the African nature as there is abundance of it everyday you can see and learn something new. Cheers

Beyond Expectations, 5-Stars
Everything about this tour exceeded our expectations. We booked the “5 -DAY Best of Northern Tanzania (Luxury) Tour” through Tour Radar and the booking process was very simple. We traveled from the United States for a tour in early December 2020. We elected to substitute the day at Lake Manyara with a day at Tarangire National Park instead, and this was a seamless change confirmed by Orongai. A few days before our tour, we asked for confirmations to the lodges a we would be staying at ahead of time and the Orongai representative provided those for us. We also requested for an airport transfer to our hotel. Asseri, the tour group founder, greeted us at the Kilimanjaro Airport in the safari truck when we landed. Once at the hotel, he sat with us in the lobby to review the printed itinerary for our tour that was to start the following day. The next morning, Asseri met us at the hotel to personally introduce us to our tour guide, Noel. Noel was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife, culture, and each of the parks we traveled to. His ability to spot and identify animals so quickly was very impressive. By the 2nd day or our trip, we saw four of the “Big Five” animals, and on the last day we finally saw a rhino to round out all five. Noel educated us on each animal’s habits and how their behaviors changed throughout their lifespan. Aside from the animals, Noel shared information on types of trees, plants, and flowers found in the area, as well as the history of how the landscapes came to be over millions of years. He was responsive to us taking pictures, even stopping the truck and backing up if it made for better lighting or angle for a photo. Noel’s knowledge expanded to his navigation as our tour spanned over 400 miles of driving without a map or GPS. Noel also made a point to stop at significant landmarks along the way, such as historical and geological attractions, we enjoyed the added education. The professionalism and expertise Noel demonstrated made our trip remarkable. The lodging set up during our tour was at the Serena hotels: Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. The hotels were tremendous! The views at each hotel are remarkable, we would wake up early each morning just to watch the sunrise. All of our meals were provided each day and the chefs at each hotel were very accommodating to special requests. The hotel staff provided 5-star service way beyond our expectations. As noted above, we traveled early December 2020 during the corona virus outbreak. From our research prior to the trip, we saw the low infection rate in Tanzania and decided to go forward with the trip. We did not have any COVID concerns during our trip as it was only our group and Noel in the truck all day, which was well ventilated. At the hotels we had a temperature check prior to entering, had to sanitize our hands, and guests were encouraged to wear masks. Hotel staff wore masks. Our experience with Orongai was 5-star. Orongai responded to our many questions within 24 hours, arranged ground transportation to and from airport, set up extra lodging before and after the tour and provided a trip of a life time. Just to note, we read a few reviews that were concerning to us prior to the trip. From our experience we have a hard time believing these reviews as our trip was very well organized and beyond expectations. Our only recommendation to Orongai would be to provide the detailed itinerary and hotel confirmation details a week or two prior to the tour start date. This information was provided when requested and finalized printed itinerary provided in person when we were picked up from the airport. Also, we really appreciated how every representative we encountered from Orongai was listed and pictured on their website and there was an introduction and hand-off from one representative to the next. We highly recommend Orongai as a tour operator and heading on a safari in Tanzania, it truly was a trip of a lifetime.
Response from the operator: Hello Benjamin, Its my great pleasure first to hear back from you, and also that you had a memorable experience with us further more appreciation of our staffs. Do not hesitate to recommend us best to your friends

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
5 Day Serena Luxury Tanzania Safari: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.
How much does 5 Day Serena Luxury Tanzania Safari cost?
+
Prices start at $4256 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 5 Day Serena Luxury Tanzania Safari take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.
Is 5 Day Serena Luxury Tanzania Safari worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 5 Day Serena Luxury Tanzania Safari?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 5 Day Serena Luxury Tanzania Safari suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 120-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 5 Day Serena Luxury Tanzania Safari?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 5 Day Serena Luxury Tanzania Safari start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Arusha?
+
On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Arusha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Arusha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
