11 day Safari Tanzania and Zanzibar
We had an amazing time on our Safari. We booked the 11 day Safari in Tanzania and ended in Zanzibar. It was definitely the trip of a lifetime and one I'll never forget. Koen and the team from the Wanderer were wonderful to work with and coordinated everything effortlessly. The places we stayed were beautiful while on our Safari. Knowing what we know now, I would have honestly skipped Zanzibar and done a longer Safari. Seeing the animals in the wild was amazing. We wanted more! We definitely will be talking about this trip for some time to come, and we'll be booking another Safari in the future!

⭐ An Unforgettable Tanzania Adventure!
We had the most amazing family trip to Tanzania, organised by The Wanderer Tanzani. Our safari through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro was incredible — we were lucky enough to see the Big Five, giraffes, zebras, hippos and so much more! Our guide Juma was fantastic — incredibly knowledgeable, informative and brilliant with our children. He really made the safari special and helped create memories we’ll never forget. We then had a fantastic stay in Zanzibar, also arranged by The Wanderer. Communication was excellent throughout, and all the transfers ran smoothly. Every accommodation was excellent, with amazing food, service and incredibly friendly, hospitable staff. Everything was so well organised from start to finish. We couldn’t recommend The Wanderer Tanzania highly enough — an absolutely unforgettable family holiday!

Amazing experience, exceeded expectations!
Amazing experience, exceeded expectations! Wanderer Tanzania (Koen and team) organised and delivered a wonderful experience for our large group. Saw everything we wanted to and everything was as planned. The serengeti was exceptional and the tented camps were such a special experience. Would recommend!

Well orgainsed private safari. Friendly helpful people. Unforgettable experience.
From my initial enquiry Koen was very quick to respond with helpful, thorough information and pricing. With a few tweaks to the itinerary we had our ideal, tailored 2 centre safari and zanzibar holiday sorted. On arrival everything went completely as promised, from our airport transfers to our personal guide for the safaris - the top man Eric! With his help we had great, close up encounters with the big five and all the other amazing wildlife from hippo to hyena and warthogs to blue monkeys! All the accommodation and dining was top notch and la luna suites on beautiful jambiani beach was the blissful end to our fabulous trip. Thanks Wanderer. It was everything you promised and more! X

Incredible honeymoon
Thank you so much Koen and the whole team (especially Adili) for making our honeymoon so incredible! We celebrated our honey moon in Tanzania for two weeks in a private tour. Everything was so well organised and planned down to the smallest detail. Our guide was always on time, everything ran smoothly, and we genuinely didn’t have a single issue throughout the trip. The safari is also amazing value for money. Compared to many other safaris in Africa, you get a real 5-star experience without paying the crazy prices you often see online. They’re a small tour operator and honestly deserve so much more recognition and support. You can really tell they care about what they do. One thing I loved were all the little details. As soon as we arrived, we received beautiful Wanderer Tanzania water bottles, and a few days later the team surprised us with traditional Tanzanian beaded bracelets with our names on them. They’re such small things, but they really show how much thought and care goes into the whole experience. I would 100% recommend Wanderer Tanzania to anyone planning a safari. Thank you again for everything, you made our honeymoon unforgettable!

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
5-Day Mid-Range Safari in Tanzania: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.
How much does 5-Day Mid-Range Safari in Tanzania cost?
+
Prices start at $1283 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 5-Day Mid-Range Safari in Tanzania take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.
Is 5-Day Mid-Range Safari in Tanzania worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 98 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 5-Day Mid-Range Safari in Tanzania?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 5-Day Mid-Range Safari in Tanzania suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 120-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 5-Day Mid-Range Safari in Tanzania?
+
Around 34 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 5-Day Mid-Range Safari in Tanzania start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Arusha?
+
On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Arusha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Arusha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
