We booked the 4 day (3...

We booked the 4 day (3 night) safari during the dry season and we had a wonderful experience. The safari itself was amazing. The sights were incredible and we got to see all pf the big five game animals. As for the accommodations, I didn’t have any problems, but manage your expectations. You’ll be camping in tents, so it can be pretty uncomfortable. We were given small cots and sleeping bags but no pillows. Some of the other passengers who were traveling with us clearly didn’t expect this and complained. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable… up until the very end when they demanded we tip significantly more than what we were willing to give. Keep in mind, tipping is not required in any form or capacity. It’s completely optional. The staff didn’t even mention anything about it until they dropped us off. Yet, they argued with us at the hotel for about 45 minutes and wouldn’t leave, insisting we give a higher tip and that it was required. Keep in mind, the staff already gets paid from the payment for the safari itself. We later got an apology from the tour operator for their behaviour and we didn’t end up tipping at all. Overall, I still really loved my experience and I highly recommend this tour. The 4-day structure is ideal for the safari in my opinion, since it lets you see everything without overstaying it’s welcome. Just be prepared for the aforementioned and you’ll be fine.

Had the absolute best time of my life

Booking with Cubs Expeditions was the best decision we could have made for our safari. Elii’s never-ending knowledge and passion for the nature is absolutely spectacular! He made us feel so safe and we had so many good conversations and laughs. The food that got prepared during our days was delicious! I could not recommend this company and guide enough. Asante sana Cubs!

Four days, Three Parks, One Incredible Adventure

4-day safari through Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater was nothing short of unforgettable. I had the pleasure of sharing this experience with a wonderful group of people from all over the world, which made the journey even more special. A huge part of what made this trip so incredible was our guide, David. He was always attentive, in a great mood, and truly dedicated to giving us the best possible experience—and he absolutely delivered. He had an amazing eye for spotting wildlife, often noticing animals before we had any idea something was there. He was also very cooperative with other guides, working together to find the best viewing spots and ensuring everyone got to enjoy the moment. We were lucky enough to see all of the Big Five—including a black rhino up close, which gave us some truly incredible photos. A special mention also goes to Richard, who prepared delicious meals for us throughout the trip. No matter where we were, he made sure we were well-fed and happy. This safari was a true adventure, filled with breathtaking landscapes, unforgettable wildlife encounters, and amazing people. I feel incredibly grateful to have experienced it. Great value for the price!

4-Day Tanzania Camping Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.

How much does 4-Day Tanzania Camping Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $985 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4-Day Tanzania Camping Safari take?

    +

Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.

Is 4-Day Tanzania Camping Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 52 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4-Day Tanzania Camping Safari?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 4-Day Tanzania Camping Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 96-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 4-Day Tanzania Camping Safari?

    +

Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4-Day Tanzania Camping Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Arusha?

    +

On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Arusha Guided City Tour &Hotel Pickup (History, Culture &Market, 5 Days Camping Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro crater & Visiting Maasai, Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Arusha?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Arusha?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
