Unforgettable 4 days in Tanzania - Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater & Tarangire

We just got back from a 4-day safari covering Tarangire, the Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater, and it exceeded every expectation. Each park had its own character: Tarangire’s baobab-studded landscape and huge elephant herds were a great opener, the Serengeti delivered on its promise of endless plains and incredible game viewing, and Ngorongoro Crater was simply spectacular - like a natural amphitheater packed with wildlife. We saw an amazing range of animals across the trip, from lions and elephants to giraffes, zebras, and more. The variety of landscapes in just four days was impressive - you really feel how different each park is. Highly recommend this route for anyone short on time but wanting to see the best of northern Tanzania. Four days felt like the perfect length to hit the highlights without feeling rushed.

Amazing Safari Experience

We had an absolutely amazing safari experience with Goldfinch Adventures. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organised. A special thanks to Brenda, who handled all the arrangements smoothly. She was professional, responsive, and made sure every detail was taken care of. Her communication before and during the trip gave us complete confidence and peace of mind. Our driver and guide, Isaac, was truly outstanding. Thanks to him, we saw an incredible variety of animals and had unforgettable close-up moments. He was also extremely friendly, safe, and professional throughout the trip. He also made sure we stayed maximum time at the parks and never rushed to go back to the accommodation. The entire safari was well-planned, comfortable, and worth every moment.

BOOK AND ENJOY THE TRIP

BOOK AND ENJOY THE TRIP I don't usually do reviews but when one deserves it it is more than right. We were looking for a local company for a Safari, organized a week before leaving. We had already bought round-trip tickets from Italy to Zanzibar, but still no organized Safari. We sent several requests for quotes and between slow responses and prices a bit too high (among other things of companies of our Italian compatriots) we were content, given the short time before departure. Then, Joseph of goldfincher, a message on whatsapp, helpful, fast and efficient and in three days organized the Safari, booked roundtrip flights from Zanzibar and organized EVERYTHING. Agency efficient, prepared and super available for every need. The Safari was PERFECT, the accommodations even if chosen at the last minute, were exactly as requested and make everything even better was Alin; our Italian speaking guide. Alin was also super flexible to our requests, he accompanied us in the Safari the whole time and in addition to showing you the 5 big five was super nice and non-invasive. Always clean car, basic but good lunches and fridge in the jeep always full of coche, water, beer and wine (which not everyone gives you available) Meanwhile Joseph, always made sure we were okay and that everything was going according to plan with messages on what’s app. I confirm as in the other reviews to rely on them if you have to book a Safari. In addition, I would also add that compared to other companies, we only had to give a deposit and then we settled arrived directly in Arusha, knowing each other in person. So that made it all the more reassuring. Having a big suitcase that I didn’t want to take with me for the 5 days, Joseph organized, making me keep the suitcase in storage and once back from Safari, I took it quietly, brought back by our driver who then accompanied us to the hotel where we would stay for the sea support in Zanzibar. Absolutely recommend! We'll send a lot of our Italian friends. Ps: when we least expected it Joseph also paid us a thought before leaving. Super cute. Pss: if you have more time to choose the airline, rely on flight link or air Tanzania. I think they're the best. Best agency ✨

First class service and a fantastic safari experience

Goldfinch were selected from the many on offer on the basis of offering a 5 day/4 night experience at a variety of National Parks for a price that seemed in line with other offerings. They delivered an experience that will live long in the memory. Robert was excellent as the organiser - he responded quickly and clearly to any questions raised, the offer and (subsequent revisions requested by us) was well presented and left no doubt as to what we should expect. Our driver for the duration was Sam had excellent English, was very affable and informative - not just about the wildlife but on all aspects of Tanzanian life. He felt 'part of the family'. (We were travelling as a group of two couples). The Land Cruiser we used was new and comfortable. It was cleaned down and out every evening, which was a nice touch. The Lodges we stayed in were excellent - both in terms of quality, staff friendliness and service. The safaris themselves were spectacular from the walking safari at Arusha to the mbreathtaking Ngorongoro Crater and the majesty of Serengeti. Everything went to plan. I would have no doubts in recommending Goldfinch.

4-Day Group Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.

How much does 4-Day Group Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater cost?

+

Prices start at $975 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4-Day Group Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater take?

+

Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.

Is 4-Day Group Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4-Day Group Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 4-Day Group Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 16. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 96-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 4-Day Group Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4-Day Group Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Arusha?

+

On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Arusha?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Arusha?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
